I recently acquired an RVT-R reader online from someone. When looking at the pictures it look like a normal RVT-R reader loose with one menu disc. Well I receive the item today and it came with some added bonuses that I wasn't expecting. First and for most it came with a Wii remote with a cable attached to it. Very strange! Also it came with a few discs and I don't know what any of them does. I don't even know how rare some of this stuff is. I only bought it to be able to play NR and RVT-R discs with content on them. Please see pictures below and tell me what I stumbled upon here. Thanks everyone. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jg9xyp5kr3mz77p/aKFZrC2KBg
Discs are very common and at this point outdated. The controller im not sure about. How much did you pay?
That's just the wired version of the rvt. It's less common, but let's be honest rvt wii systems are worth $99 at the moment. Historically if you look at gamecube, dolphin hardware has been on a steep decline in interest and value as well. You should appreciate it for what you have; if you have the desire you can now make games and demo them and get a job. The difference between wii games and wiiu is not that great and conversion of wii game to wiiu is equally easy. Showing up with some dvdrs versus a rvtr with a screen and showing a demo would have a better impact. Fits in a backpack easily. There's very little illusion that wiiu is going to be any more special than wii, It primarily going to be shovelware like the wii. So make some shovelware, get paid. Repeat. Just look at carnival games.
I'm not really worried about its value as I bought it as a cool conversation piece. Just thought the wired controller was a bit odd. When I put the Wii Menu discs in the drive the system says it cant read the disc, must be used if I didnt already have the menu installed. Would be interesting to find out what the menu uninstaller would do, but Im worried Id mess up the system somehow.
No you can't I would presume. Look at the NDEV kids, 'BT' ports on them because they didn't need the BT modules or have them ready so instead of communicating over BT it just emulates it
I did notice that on the NDEV, I have one on the way to my house that I should have by end of next week. I was told it includes a ton of files and SDK's too so I'm excited to see what I got. Also a RVT-H(blank) is also on its way. Seems like my Rev SDK is about complete.
diskcheck: checks basics of nr disks. size, region, company, etc. wii menu uninstaller: uninstalls the wii menu to get to dev menu wii menu installer: can only be run from dev menu. allows swap between america, europe, and japan ncheck disk: used to check system space. mainly used in testing to view errors with memory and to check how much a game save takes up. if read error, you need to run from dev menu. wired wii: older rvt-r models. used to make sure the connection doesn't drop between remote and system. all newer ones are wireless.
Yes, it said 3.3GB on a disk. I know it includes Codewarrior for Wii 1.0 and GameCube 3.0, also a bunch of various SDK's and WiiWare information.
Codewarrior 3.0 for GC? Could you take some screenshots of the folders/installer for that or post any released notes?
