Wipeout HD Fury is so good that you guys must get the blu-ray version. One of my favourite PS3 games to this day.
Rented Fallout 3: New Vegas (PS3) and man if ever a game felt "cheap" to me this is it. Can't really put my finger on it but it lacks the richness of Fallout 3. I think the character models bring it down a notch, the story well ... with most of these RPGs I really dig the exploring not so much the run and fetch stuff. I'd probably be more ticked off if I purchased it and it does freeze on you a fair bit. Also played the crap out Katamari Forever (PS3) after finally finding it cheap.
What's different about the disc version of Wipeout? Sorry mate, missed this. Sure, though I wouldn't like to guess what the lag would be like from Japan to Britain... haven't played online yet (almost never do, in any game). PM me, anyway.
Basicly it's a physical media of a very good game. The game is so good that it's worth to have it on a real media other than just a digital file. Anyway, it has the Fury add-on already on the disc as well.
Eh, it's still >£20. I can live with the digital version for now if there aren't any differences. The disc version would have longer loading times anyway because SATA > Blu-ray read speed.
Gonna sink my teeth into Homefront pretty soon, which I hope I'll be finished with before Darkest Hour is released. That should keep me busy until DNF.
I picked up Homefront as well. What platform did you pick it up on? If you got if for 360 we should play sometime. :flamethrower:
Currently hammering Mortal Kombat 9 Demo on the PS3 ... feels like some fairly old school godness so far! Will defo pick up the full thing on release! Got the Killzone 3 demo downloading too ... hopefully i'll get a better feel for it than the last game!
I had never, ever, owned a Smash Brothers title. I had played Melee and Brawl at get-togethers, and I suck at it. An ex tried to teach me how to play, but both she and her brother were unstoppable and... well, I wasn't able to learn. I was over at Blockbuster the other day, and, well, I need a copy of Smash Brothers to hack a friend's red 4.3 Wii. So I figure "why the fuck not?" and I buy one. And you know what? It's pretty good. It's like a Nintendo fanfic on Meth, with decent controls and lots, LOTS of fan service. It's very, very fun to play, and the platforming story mode is pretty neat. Why didn't I discover this game sooner? I was always very wary of it, and didn't have an interest in playing it - and considered it quite shallow - but it's got a lot of meat to it. And now that I'm not that blind anymore (new prescription glasses) - I can even see the characters. Pretty cool.
Beyond the initial "hey, Nintendo characters beating the shit out of each other... cool" appeal, I never really got Smash Brothers. People get really serious about that game, too (as in, hundreds-of-hours serious). Incidentally I think you can hack Wiis with nothing more than an SD card now.
Cool Boarders: Code Alien on the PS2. Not as good as the DC version or even Cool Boarders: Killing Session on the PSX but still playable enough. Fantavision 2 as well. Again, not as good as the JPN original - not as much for the soundtrack on this version - but still good addictive fun
Going through my 360 Arcade games at the moment trying to get 100% on each of them. Just doing Dead Rising Case 0 at the moment.
Halo ODST, kinda rushing through it as I don't really like it, but want to finish it so I can move on to Halo: Reach.
It used to be so that you'd only need the SD card, after the Twilight Hack was patched. Unfortunately, 4.3 requires a buggy game once again - either Indiana Jones or Smash Brothers Brawl. And well, it's quite a fun little clusterfuck of a game - but nothing to get obsessed with. I've seen the weird fanboy cases of people who play "tournaments" and stuff - and really, it's not such a deep game. Fun, yeah - and the platforming story mode is pretty cool too (It'd make a pretty cool SRPG, too) - but not masterpiece or obsession worthy.
ROFL! I'm guessing this Cool Boarders is totally unrelated to the snowboarding game. I read it and was like, huh?? Cool Boarders: Code Alien??? What is that!?
Nope, just like the others this is indeed a snowboarding game, just not a very good one sadly. There was an unlockable alien character in Killing Session so I'm guessing this is an extension of that.
NTSC-J Super Monkey Ball on my Panasonic Q Just unlocked Monkey Bowling, ned to get around to unlocking the other two mini gams.
