each player know a game which did not have the successes that it could have had. a game which was forgotten by everyone but was having a really great potential, a game which was your small treasure. what was yours? for me , comix zone is a game that i will never forgot. it wasn't a real comercial hit but was trully amazing . a great game that i recomend to everyone (if you liked street of rage you'll really like this one , plus it as text ! and a story ! lol
For me it is not one game, but an entire series of games. The Enix Heavan and Earth series, Soul Balzer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma. All of them are great.
- The Winning Eleven/Pro Evo Soccer series. In Japan it sells great(1mil +) but everywhere else Fifa beats it. It is so incredibly wrong for Fifa to outsell Pro Evo :smt011
Summoner for ps2. This game had everything, great graphics, great story, great characters, great combat system, and a massive world and mythology.. For me it was Baldur's Gate taken to a whole new level, and I newer really understood why it didn't become a massive hit. Especially as it arrived at a time, early in the ps2's life, where people were starved for a good rpg.
Edono Kiba - Super Famicom . Short, nice and original! hahaha somebody remember the last level.....the rocket-ride?
Powerslave in Saturn (Exhumed in europe), top notch FPS in saturn. the engine was used later for Duke nukem 3D and Quake.
I think Rayman (the original one, new ones are cack) would be my choice... it has pretty damn nice 2D animation :smt023
- Ridge Racer V (PS2) - Because Ridge Racer Type 4 was so amazing people expected the same gameplay style, but it reminded more Ridge Racer and Ridge Racer Revolution. That's not a bad thing. It's a cool arcade game, and good graphics (there's aliasing but it's nothing extreme). I bought it used, and i'm happy with it. - Command and Conquer: Renegade (PC) - A friend gave this game to me for nothing. It is a 2002 game. I love it. It's a great single player FPS game, and multiplayer must amazing. Imagine Command and Conquer, and now think you are just one soldier in the middle of that big war. Anyway, from what i searched on the internet, there was a sequel planned, but since the game was not succesful (i ask why) they canned it.
what? there's a prequel and a sequel to illusion of gaia?? i alway love this game but wasn't knowning that! are they where realeshed in america ? on super nintendo? its really cool to know that! :smt040
No one seems to recognise the utter brilliance of Jet Set/Grind Radio on the DC. Absolute quality game. And also PowerStone 2 on DC. 4player PS2 kicks ass.
Chelnov (aka Atomic Runner) by Data East is just magnificent! The megadrive release beats the arcade version imo.
Siebu Olympic Cup Soccer - in it's field/genre and time spec it beats out Hat Trick Hero/Euro Champ & Sidekicks IMO.
Power Rangers: The Movie -Megadrive Soul Edge/Soul Blade -PSX Garou MOTW -DC/NeoGeo REZ -DC Jet Set Radio Future -Xbox Phantom Crash -Xbox Gunvalkyrie -Xbox P.N.03 -Gamecube
Oh man, Comix Zone cracks me up, and it's a really fun game, too. For me, I'm thinking Ore No Ryouri on the PSX. Ore No Ryouri, translated as something like "My Cooking" is a really fun and quirky game. You begin as a chef of a Japanese restraunt (later moving on to other types of cuisine like Fast Food and 'Ethnic'), but the entire game is played using the dual shock analog sticks. Need to slice a carrot for ramen? Use the left stick to slice in an up-and-down motion, and slowly feed the carrot through the knife with a slight, steady pressure on the right stick. Do dishes with a mad, circular scrubbing motion. Control the tilt of a mug and the flow of beer for a maximum head and no spills down the side. This game keeps me entertained for hours!! My other choice is Ice Hockey on the NES. It was very simple - choose a team from a list of nations (one of which being the USSR, which I always choose because it makes me laugh at being able to represent the Soviet Union instead of Russia), customize your four guys to be either skinny and fast, possessing medium talent, or being fat and strong (and looking like Mario in a helmet). The coolest thing about the game is that you could start fights. A member of the opposite team has the puck, and you could charge into him rapidly pressing the B button, which was very obviously a move in which you'd hit someone with your stick. Most of the time he'd fall down and you could recover the puck, but sometimes he'd fight back... and everyone on both teams would join in before the ref appeared out of nowhere and sent someone to the penalty box. It was great fun. World Cup Soccer was like this too, but I'm getting too long-winded...
...er out of my head: Monster World 4 (MD/G) Astal (SAT) Herzog 2 (MD/G) Shinobi X (SAT) + most Japanese 16Bit RPGs that not saw a US/EU release ( you got no Terranigma release in the states? :smt011 ) some of the SMS games that most ppl never noticed. ...not a game but: Dreamcast :smt040 Chris
yeah , this game is really good! its just too bad that everyone thinks that this game Is only another bad game of sport for the nes....because its really fun and better when you play at the fifth speed ! :smt043
