I've just bought a Famicom from FleaBay with the description for next to nothing:
So I'll take it's doesn't display properly. But before I get the machine and before I'll crack it open and try fixing things (like I do on most of my consoles). I've already mailed the seller (from japan) for better detail.
What are the things that could cause graphical issues on a famicom?

I think you need to ask what he means by "cannot be displayed properly"; does it work but only sometimes (might be the cart slot needs cleaning)

Famicom uses Japanese RF foreign TVs weren't designed for. Some CRTs can handle it adequately at like channel 95.

Japanese Famicom is RF only. The RF band used over there is different from the US RF frequency band spectrum. As Lum said some USA CRT TV sets can handle the Japanese spectrum at certain channels. That's probably the issue the seller has.

I suspect he doesn't mean RF incompatibility as the seller is from Japan it self. But does RF incompatibility also hold for Europe, me being Dutch and all?

I actually reversed image searched that famicom: http://famicomblog.blogspot.nl/2010/05/square-button-famicom-my-new.html It has the serial H1346565
Mine is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=331075977226&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123 H1148560 and originally a smooth bottom, which is a lower serial so with some luck is the magical square button Fami. At the very least it doesn't look that bad compared to the other picture. We all know in about 2 weeks.

But still what are some common problems with there fixes for the famicom

I've bought Saturn stuff from Yamatoku, he's a good, honest seller. I would say he tends to overplay negative features of items, it might not be too bad.

Could be many different things but I have had cases of Bad PPU trice already. 2 on NES and 1 with a RGB PPU. In all these instances replacing the PPU fixed the problem.
But from the description of the problem, might be trouble with RF modulator. Might be that a Composhit mod would fix her up.

Edit: Thats a nice color case btw! ^^

So I've just received the famicom. No square buttons and yellow as can be but that was far faster than expected...

But how can I test it without a game, to what frequency do I need to tune the TV and a master system 2 power adapter also works right?

Since your in the Netherlands trying to get the famicom to work with rf is going to be a pain in the ass.
Best bet is to buy a cheap game and av mod it,as for a psu a model 1 mega drive ac adapter will work just fine.

Well getting it to work over RF was easy now I have a game and a little contact spray, as my tv has custom channels. But now I've got a problem, the Video works fine but I can't seem to get audio on it. When I first hooked it up I had it but now not anymore (due to interference I used some contact spray). After that, no audio except buzz. But I can still get audio over the radio, using the radio trick.

I would honestly just AV mod it at this point.
