I think if I had a son I would place him in front of a Famicom and Mario Brothers and then let him slowly experience all the Japanese 8-Bit-era. Living through him what I couldn't achieve, in a way
here's my current one, nothing too hi-tech only keeping ps3 and GC in actual use, ps2, SNES and PSX have retired and now collect dust as a part of the house decoration - 42" fullHD ( arrived yesterday <3 ) - 60Gb launch unit ps3 - DOL-02 GC (i think)
so do i but this is the only backwards compatible model in here (finland) that doesn't suck balls. im actually the third owner of the ps3 and i paid way more from it than it's worth. it also looks like it's been hit by a bulldozer since it's been a demo device on a huge shop since the launch of ps3's oh well, the guy i bought it from did state that it has an EE but from what i heard, any PAL model doesn't have it and i didnt' get myself to open it and verify that. im not really sure what to believe regarding that anymore anyways, some people say that they were sold for a little while before it was pulled out and some say that the first units already had software emulation. it's still one of the oldest models around here, so i'll just keep it for the retro value i never use it for ps2 games so it doesn't really matter anyway but now that i think about it, i could just have bought a shiny 80 Gb one
I don't have pics of my home console gaming setup yet. (It is too much stuff to have in one room.) But my arcade gaming setup can be found here: http://assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21038

It has art from when Gears was alpha so the characters look all stupid, but it is snazzy. I did see one with Marcus and a Locus in makeout mode though.
Might be time to clean the 360 up...doesn't help the one they sent me was all nasty. It's from an alpha of Gears...or a....something early. They look wierd. BONUS
