The age old question..... My favorite system would be the PC Engine. Ever since I bought my first TG16, and then my Duo and PC Engine a few years later I have been in love with this hardware. This also happens to be home to one of my favorite rpgs, Dragon Slayer - The Legend of Heroes. ^_^_^
Dont really have a favourite, i like all my consoles the same each one has some games that i love & cant be played on any of the others. Dreamcast for samba & space channel 5, Gamecube & N64 for zelda & mario & all the rest.
wihtout a doubt my favorite one is the Dreamcast, when my friend were crazy with the nes, master system, gameboy and mega drive...i spent my time with Legos i bought a saturn, but at that time i didn't use it very much, sadly i only played fifa 98 but when Dreamcast hapeard, i bought it on release day because i loved sega rally 2 on arcades, sega rally 2 was shit in the dreamcast, but then appeared sonic adventure, soul calibur, crazy taxi, MSR, shenmue, shenmue2, ferrari 355, 24h de le mans, skies of arcadia, grandia 2, THE MIGHTY REZ...etc in that 3 years it was all about the dreamcast... i bought a xbox, i like it , i can do things with it that i never thought i could do with a games console, but the desire for playing, and the excitment of waint for new games is gone, it disappeared with the dreamcast games of the shops.
My favourite console's probably the Mega Drive, but probably because I grew up with one and most my friends had ones. But nothing beats a game of good ol' Streets of Rage! Then again, old games like that do get repetitive after a while, so I could never *just* play the MD - it doesn't have GT4 on it anyway ^_^
Overall the best video game system for me is SEGA Dreamcast. Currently every console has great games, so I own them all
Hmmm...I don't really have a favorite game console. Their are certanly some I like more then others though: NES: Old school goodness, but the nostalgia is almost completly gone (played the games too much on my DC). SNES: Nostalgia is still their, and their is alot of games i'd like to beat on it still, but im waiting for a handheld to have full speed emulation of it before I do so (PSP, GP32X, im looking at you two) Sega Saturn: I've always really liked the system, but at the same time I only really like a handful of games for it Playstation: A classic system, with many games that I enjoyed greatly back in the day, but I was always more a fan of the games then I was the system Nintendo 64: Love the games, hate the fog. Im looking forward to playing them in higher resolution on the Revolution. Dreamcast: Realy liked the system and the games for it,but i've played basicly everything I ever wanted to for the system at this point, and its not quite old enough for a nostalgia'ish feeling Playstation 2: Only a few games i've realy enjoyd, but amoung those were easily some of my favorite games of all time. Gamecube: With only four games that I can honestly say I truly enjoed, the system doesn't hold as much worth in my mind as many other systems, but like the PS2, those few games were all ones ill think of fondly for many years to come. XBox: Some interesting titles, but really the only reason I own one is because its versions of multi-console games are always the best ones. I used to play favorites with consoles, but I stoped doing that more or less some time ago. Now I just get them all and care about the games instead of the systems.
1. SNES - I have very fond memories of sitting in my basement, playing Mother 2 all night until I fell asleep. Mario RPG and a slew of kirby games, pretty much anything touched by HAL becomes a golden treasure. 2. Dreamcast - Easily one of the best consoles of its time and value. So many great games, the homebrew value, the ability to watch videos, etc. Easily made it a very high ranking for me. 3. Gamecube and N64 Tied - While I don't have a ton of games for each console, every game I have picked up and played on them has been instantiously worthwhile and whole heartidly gratifying. Again, the games blessed by HAL are just incredible. I'll never forget any of the games I've had the pleasure of playing on them. 4. Saturn - This is just BARELY beaten out byt the N64 and GC. NiGHTS, the BUG! series, the Lunar series, The awesome Segata Sanshiro Commercials, Grandia, and Battle Arena Toshinden, and Croc totaly rocked this console. Easily a classic in my mind . 5. 3DO - The fact this console was supported for so long gratified me and I have an extensive collection of games for it. I want to thank Crystal Dynamics for their awesome job in coding everything for it, like total eclipse, the hoarde, and I think even Gex. Regardless, lots of quality titles but it was a bit expensive. 6. NES - Alot of quality games, but playing them so much on the DC and the gameboy really killed nostalgia with them. I especially like Kirby (DUH! XD), and the Mario games, Contra, Metroid, and FF1 & FF3, and the Star Tropics Series. Probably lots more but I can't recall off hand 7. Genesis - Loved the sonic games TO DEATH, ESPECIALLY TAILS! Not many other things interested me on the console sadly. Ristar and Ecco were cool, never played a phantasy star though. Who knows, in time, I could play more that leaves a better impression on me. 8. PSX - Quite simply, for FF9 alone. Rhapsody was a good game too. There wasn't much else this offered for me to play I couldn't get on my saturn, really, the console offered almost nothing appealing to me. 9. CDI - Mario's Wacky Worlds and the CDI Zelda games, just so I could see bastardized Nintendo Characters XD 10. PS2 - Before it melted... umm Para Para Paradise, while an awesome game... was an expensive decision I made. I can't think of anything the PS2 really offered me... Disgaea was fun.. but got old after a while... and Kingdom hearts too (though I was in the middle of the game when it melted so blah...)... Really nothing worth play on it.
foe me the old atari stella..the 2600..the vcs....just something nostalgic about it....to think how far we've come in 30 years....amazing
My first ever console (sentimental reasons) .......... A PAL 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment system. The best console ever - The 32-bit PlayStation, without a doubt!!
Yeah, I'm still on the lookout for those versions. I have to find a good translation of the 2nd installment. ^_^_^
Man, a whole lotta Dreamcast love here... As for me I have to say Snes for Chronotrigger, Tetris Attack, and Super Metroid. Those are only three of many truly classic games on that system that I can still pick up and enjoy to this day. Saturn is a close second though and is still my sentimental fave.
