For a bet, I want to know what five Japanese chain stores spring to mind (a chain has more then 3 stores)? Doesn't matter if you live in Japan or not, but the chains must be Jaoanese in origin so no KFC :p

    For me it is

    Hard off
    Uni Qlo
    Lawson
    Yellow Hat
    Taito Station

Bikkuri donkey (stake / hamburger house)
Hard Off (games / video / hardware)
Manga Soko (blows Hard Off away with ease especially in the games software and hardware department)
Yoshinoya (Lovely yet very cheap beef on rice)
Autobacks / Super Autobacks (car shop. Sell everything you'll ever need from mechanical parts to Audio/Video to washing stuff)

I have loads more but since we are limited to 5 these will have to do since they are the places I most frequently visit.

I wish I had tried Mos Burger when I was in Japan! The ads looked delicious, but somehow I never went.

Lawson is so strange. A Japanese chain with a name that looks/sounds like a Texan general store? The only place outside Japan I have ever encountered a Lawson was Honolulu. Does is even operate outside Japan (usually)?

Really? I thought I'd read an article about the company going bankrupt.

We have Mos Burger in Australia now, there's none in your country?

You don't like Mos Burger? Their okonomi rice burger is great! Granted, most of their menu is not really any different from what you'd get at Micky D's
