Both armored core and FF (the 1st one) looks like taken from the intro or something. The RR looks nice, better than expected. Whats up with the big Resistance pics? doesnt sony know the japanese dont like FPSs that much? Nev4r!!!!!1 ...............well maybe, since is unlikely SEGA will make a new one.
..then again, nothing compares to the world of Panzer Dragoon...amazing art-direction..oh well..those one-off kind of relationships sometimes do leave an impact..although Panzer Dragoon RPG was short
iam still not sure what to make of motorstorm they got some time to redefine the graphics but the pictures are a whole lot below from what i expected of nextgen maybe 2nd gen ps3 games will deliver more eyecandy
No, Lair is more like a Drakengard overhaul with more features and enhanced Gameplay. I'm still not sure if you can dismount the Dragon and lair and fight in a hack n slash mode like in Drakengard, but it would be pretty useless since the Armies below actually move towards a goal instead of staying in one spot. On another forum I said that Lair looked like Drakengard done right, but they all said that Drakengard II was Drakengard done right. Only time will tell.
Yakumo, could you post higher resolution (wallpaper size) versions of those VF5 pictures, or email them to me?
Although i admire Julian and his team, they re only good at flying dog-fights, in that light i would expect a weak foot-based gameplay if any. Online dragonfights could be good IF you can control not only the dragon, but the rider too (a second player?)
I think in the Lair article in EGM, Julian stated there were some on-foot parts. They had a screenshot of a Dragon on the ground eating infantry to regain health as well. I think you control the rider more than the Dragon. You use the tilt function to move the Dragon like you are pulling on reigns and etc. Also, when pursuing enemies, when you get close enough you can jump on the enemies Dragon and knock them off in a fighting game of sorts. You then kill the Dragon by sticking a blade in its head and jump back to your own. I've also heard there will be a Dragon breeding mini game similar to the Chocobo breeding mini game in FF7. Guess I'm going to have a whole stable of retarded Dragons.
I don't think the scans would look good even if I did them at 1200dpi because the images they are scanned from are pretty small. By the way I played a PlayStation 3 today in Toys R Us  THey have it running Ridge Racer. Somehow I thought it looked better in the stills ;-) Looks very nice though and runs at a very nice frame rate ! Anyone want pictures or even a video? Yakumo
Are the videos is some weird format we dont know about? or the classic AVI-MOV-WMV? If its the later, then sure, why not?
Yakumo, tell us about your experience please. How was the controller? Are the visuals notably different in feel from the 360? (ie if you didn't see a Ps3 running the game, would you have mistaken the hardware to be a 360). Also, how loud was the Ps3, and how fast were load-times? (The 360's are awful in many games)
The PS3 was inside the unit so I have no idea how loud it was plus it was in a shop It was the real hardware beacuse I was using the new pad (feels just like a PSX pad, oh yippy I must say). Ridge Racer looked good but not that much better than what I've seen on the 360 to be honest. Yakumo
Man, this reminds me the first days of the DCvsPS2. MSR was way better, and DOA2 looked better in the DC than in the PS2, yet the latter won.
I saw an interview with the creator of lair, and he said that he loved Panzer but tried to make a game nothing like it, and from the vids I've seen I'll say he suceeded. And does anyone else think PD on the wii would be amazing
they better include ORTA in back compatibility on XBOX 360 first. and yeah, panzer on wii would kick ass, although wouldnt look as good as ORTA
unfortunately xbox.com thinks otherwise http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardcompatibilitygameslist.htm read this too http://www.qbrundage.com/michaelb/pubs/essays/xbox360.html One such skeptic interviewed me for my current job, and pointedly asked during the interview how I planned to handle the project's certain future cancellation. And yet, here it is. It's magic!
