Come to think of it, there hasn't really been many LE Wii systems which looked apart. A Zelda themed Wii U would look nice, just like the 3DS :)

I'd kill for a Metroid themed one actually.

The lack of gold nintendo items is annoying, oh we got the gold wiimote but eh.. I prefer a console. :)

While I absolutly love Wind Waker I really don't see the necessity of the HD port. If they wanted to port something Zelda to HD then why not use the Zelda Wii U Techdemo and port A Link to the Past to Wii U. Would be a perfect match since the sequel is comming to 3DS.

HD link to the past with tech demo graphics? I'd buy that.

Nintendo should do what Nintendo always does.

Put up Smash Bros. and Mario Kart. Drop the price. Problem solved.

I'm amazed that after a lot of you spent the first year of the 3DS's life proclaiming it the next Virtual Boy that some of you still want to try and doubt Nintendo. Tsk tsk.

Smash Brothers and Mario Kart are the Status Quo. I'd like to see Nintendo try something new with wreakless abandon like they used to in the 16 bit and N64 days.

They may be the "status quo", but they'll still outsell Halo, inFamous, Killzone, and [insert MS or Sony franchise here]. Hell, they'll likely outsell combinations of those franchises.

    As for Nintendo making sequels...

I just don't see where people are coming from there. Like, you look at the other two console makers, and they predominantly make sequels as well. And when they aren't making sequels, it's generally because they hired someone from outside to make it for them. Nintendo is really the same way. Yes, they will make MK8, a Smash Bros., and a new Mario. From a business standpoint it would be sheer idiocy not to. But they are publishing Wonderful 101 and they're putting out X. Those are new.

I mean, one console gaming company did something other than make sequels all the time, and they're dead now (as far as being a console maker).

And when they were making consoles? We were all clamoring for Panzer Dragoon 4, new Sonic games, a new Burning Rangers, and on and on and on. And the generation before that everyone was crying about no new Sonic games while they were getting Panzer Dragoon, NiGHTS, Burning Rangers, Astal, etc.

In my opinion, a good game is a good game, it doesn't matter if I've played 10 games with the same characters. If it's good, it's good, and I'm happy to play it. From what I saw, MK8 and SM3DWorld looked like really good games (Nintendo was at my Best Buy), so quite frankly I don't give a shit that they're sequels. Quite frankly, SM3DLand is my all time hands down favorite Mario platformer, and I was afraid they'd abandon the idea of making a 3D Mario where you run through levels and return to that retarded star collecting shit. So glad they didn't.

It's fine to follow the status quo but at the same time I want something new. Lack of new innovation was why I jumped from XBOX to Playstation Microsoft had the same old shit over and over YES it's worse on XBOX than on Nintendo hardware. For all the sequels Sony have they also consistently push and try new IPs all the time. What I'm saying is Nintendo should supplment the status quo with new franchises in the spirit of what they did back when I loved Nintendo.

and don't use Sega as an argument. Incompetence not creativity is why Sega is a 3rd party.

I think we're on the verge of one of the best generations for gaming if Nintendo doesn't try something new, people might get tired of them and then what? Wii Us collecting dust like Wiis did.

You mean like Steel Diver? Wonderful 101? X? Last Story? Pandora's Tower? Pushmo/Crashmo? Dillon's Rolling Western? Sakurai Samurai? HarmoKnight? Nintendo Land?

One could easily argue that Sega's push to make new IPs and abandon old ones every generation also did not help them any. If the Saturn had launched with a new Sonic game it wouldn't have helped sales? Please.

"People" do not get tired of Mario Kart and Smash Bros.. They likely won't, because those games are solid. "People" aren't getting tired of Mario either. "People like you" might complain about those games, but the general population is more than happy to play them while you play crappy Arc System fighters. :)

    1. How many of those were downloadable/Portable? 3 of those I never heard of.

Why doesn't Nintendo push those new IPs?

    2. let not go there....becuase well how much can the topic of Sega go before it's boring.

    3. I don't think Mario Kart can get better than Mario Kart 64. Smash Brothers at least is a one game per generation title so it's harder to get sick of it.

Why the fuck does that matter? You're whining about Nintendo not making new IPs, I show you that Nintendo has made at least 10 new IPs in the past 2 years or so, and you're going to complain that they're downloadable games? Who cares? Pushmo and Crashmo are two of the best puzzle games you'll play. Shit, you think if Puyo Puyo came out today it would be a retail release?
Oh, and half of those games aren't downloadable games by the way. 5 retail releases, 5 downloadable games. And Nintendo does push them, they just do it on the systems. What? You want a fucking commercial for Pushmo during the Super Bowl? Is the audience of Big Bang Theory going to run out and buy a 3DS so they can download Dillon's Rolling Western?

Uh... what console has multiple Mario Karts? Also, MK7 >>>>>> MK64. Of course, the original is the best of all of them, but MK7 brought back the coins, and I respect that. MK8 also has coins, so I respect that. Now they just need to give the option to disable blue shells and I'll be 100% happy with MK again.

I don't own any Nintendo Hardware, so from the outside looking in what does it look like they have? How am I going to know they have games OTHER than the Status quo?

I haven't had the chance to play Mario Kart 7 I haven't played Mario Kart Wii. I wasn't a huge fan of double dash either. So as far I know Mario Kart 64 is as good as Mario Kart gets.

Then your own ignorance is your own fault. The people that buy shit because of commercials are the ones who want Mario, Mario Kart, Smash Bros., etc..

Nintendo expects folks like you and me to do our own homework.

I don't even read about them on news sites. so I have NO IDEA. Even I knew about PSN games dispite not having a PS3 at the time. If nobody is talking about the games, who is going to buy them?

Since I actually know someone with a Wii U I don't really see a point in buying Smash Bros or MK8 for myself (after MK Wii, not buying another one ever again anyway), and while I love 3D Land, 3D World and the new Donkey Kong aren't really enough to lure me in...at least not at the Wii U's current price. Throw in a new Fire Emblem at least, since new F-Zero probably isn't ever happening, along with a price drop, and we'll see.

Prepare to be shocked then, because I agree with that too. $5 for a single NES game is ridiculous compared to what other download services are offering for the same price (especially when there are sales: at the moment you can get System Shock 2 on GOG for the price of one VC NES game)

I'm glad we finally found common ground. YAY! I think I'll take less shots at you for that :p

Anyway for $5 you can get a few NES Carts if you know where to look. It's just baffling and maybe a sign Nintendo isn't really living in the same reality.

A campaign to end Region locks on the 3DS and WII U has started on Twitter. Like Nintendo cares. Nintendo doesn't listen. Nintendo TELLS YOU WHAT YOU WANT and That's been my beef with Nintendo since the Gamecube they tell you what you want, not ask.

Have to admit, MK64 is my favorite too, and I've actually played every one up to and including the 3ds release. I like the glitches, like hopping the wall in wario stadium.

I'd bet that 99% of the COD loving gamers who drive the majority of console sales these days haven't even heard of F-Zero.
