Do yall think there will be a %1600 markup after launch (like the 360), or will it be more or less in overall value?
Call it highway robbery, but I want to buy a PS3 for the sole reason in seeing how much I can make off of it at launch. Hey, it would be a good way to finally pick up some Dev stuff i've always wanted to buy!
It's called Capitalism, and just about everyone in America does it. Fuck. Look at how much we pay for some of the dumbest shit.
No fucking kidding, some auto parts, mabey weigh 25 grams, just a molded peice of brass, and it will be $15
I was just going to say that:nod: Anyway, here in the suburbs you can get a lot from stupid rich kids who couldnt get one in the local toys´R us.
You think it's too late to preorder one? I did the same thing when the PS2 came out, but I made only a $100 profit. The PS3 will make a much greater profit, I should think.
Honestly, at this point I would say 30-40% of PS3's sold will be for resale purposes. Kinda weird. But whatever. As far as I can tell no one seems to really "want" a PS3. Well... the Sony fanboys over at neo-geo.com... but other than that, very few people.
jp. , not everyone goes to the forums. Keep in mind that most people don't, and those are people who don't know the latest news from the internet, but they rather be informed when a product is actualy on the market. That's a big sum of people, and that's alot of customers for any company. Don't judge market activity by internet-related/forums activity, it's proven that it's not corresponding to the truth. Just take a look at the gamecube (online chats vs actual people who know about it(!) ) - Yes, i know people who know what an XBOX and PS2 is, but they don't know what a GameCube is. Here in greece they don't sell gamecubes anymore for example, and there's a tendency that nintendo makes only portables nowadays, and that the games are for little kids. (It has been proven time and time again that Nortec, nintendo's dealership in Greece is underperforming. For God's sake, they play PS2 games in the office all the time!)
Barc0de, that may be true about a lot of consoles, but I think the PS3 is an exception. Anyone who is willing to shell out that much money for something is going to do at least a LITTLE bit of research... and alternatively, if you have that much money to blow without concern, then you probably use the internet a lot.
The places i went said that they werent taking pre-orders, so that only makes life more easy Barcode and yall, i agree, i know that there are alot of PARENTS, thats right, parents, that have the spoiled little brat kids, that buy them ABSOLUTLY everything, they are the ones im going to market to them
Be prepared to be camping out infront of stores for quiet some time. It's even better if you have a friend come with you and you both buy PS3s to sell on ebay. Really that is sad that I think many of the PS3's bought on launch day are simply people who have no interest in it other than reselling it for far more than they paid for it. Maybe they should just auction off the PS3s from the start. ;p
I was mostly referrring to gamers I've talked to at school and gamestore managers I've had this conversation with. Seriously, the biggest Sony fans I know are getting a 360 because they think the idea behind the PS3 is retarded. Almost every gamestore manager I know around here is talking about how most people are turned off about the price, and the people that do plan to get one are mainly talking about doing so just to sell it. And almost all of the gamestore workers I know are writing the PS3 off. *shrugs* Regardless of the fact that most people on the forums I frequent (barring Neo-geo and shmups of course) aren't interested in Sony's drivel.
w3rd. I preordered several at different FYE stores back like last year, and then I had to call back later and state my preference for the $600 version. Helloooooooo ebay! This should completely fund my Wii, Twilight Princess, and a few DS games I intend to buy (NSMB, Starfox, FFIII). I remember some moron actually paid $5,800 for ONE X360 on launch day on eBay. Not that it would represent the norm, but I wonder what the highest single-unit PS3 price will be.
