does anybody like Carlsberg and Tuborg ? they make alot of different pilsner beers(i don´t like beer anyway because of the bitter aftertaste) but since you all talk about piss i have read on other boards that urine taste salty and bitter, and other things, since urine is H2O with the biproducts of your own body that goes out the system that way and with the taste of what you have been drinking (water beer etc.)
Oooh Yes, Tuborg, Now theres a beer and a half. Carlsberg I don't particularly like, but thats only because its shite outside of denmark
off my head of Tuborg/carlsbarg beers are (well they own eachother and alot of breweries around the world) Red Tuborg Green Tuborg Tuborg Gold Tuborg Easterbrew Tuborg Christmas Brew Tuborg Classic and then there are from Carlsberg , Carlsberg Hof Carlsberg Pilsner Carls Special Carlsberg light Carlsberg Elephant Carls Jul sæsonøl (Carlsbergs Christmas season beer) Sort Guld (black gold) Carls Porter / Gl. Carlsberg Porter (the carlsberg porter) http://www.skafte.dk/beskrivelse_oeltyper.asp
if you want to check in danish beer types then search this without brackets/qouteationssigns "danske øltyper" and the danish means danish aletypes (yes the scandinavians has "made" the word øl/öl with derivation has become ale. but we call beers for øl . and then we have all the different beertype names .(not just the brand)
I don't think American beer is that bad, but then again none of the stuff we get here is actually brewed in the US. I usually drink Miller - which is made by Bulmers (aka Magners in the UK) over here, I think - but I'm starting to get bored of it. I like Coors Light too, and Fosters isn't too bad despite everyone saying it's piss - it is cheap though ^_^! Heineken's the *real* piss... I used to drink cider all the time (mostly Bulmers), but that shit does bad things to my stomach - I got sick from it too many times. I'd really like to try something different for once, but I'm usually too lazy and just get Miller. I get Erdinger where I can (one of the pubs in uni has it on draught - oh yeah, my university has 3 pubs by the way ^_^) but it's damn expensive. Maybe I'll try some of the stuff you guys have mentioned. I can get most of the english stuff here, Corona, and Tuborg (though only usually in cans in shops - a lot of people class it as one of the cheap-ass beers like Dutch Gold, a.k.a. Dutch Mould), dunno about the Japanese stuff...
Carlsberg, Skol, Miller, Heineken, Devassa, ... Skol is brazilian and it's very good. Devassa is also brazilian but it's not mass produced.
I don't know... I've recently become quite a fan of Boulevard Wheat (http://www.blvdbeer.com/). They used to be rather small here in the Midwest but, they've been becoming more popular as of late.
all beer is real bear! you guys are so funny. This beer is great that countries beer is shit. It's all about different taste buds. No countries beer is better because every country drinks every type and brews every type. I was in Scottland and saw large numbers drinking budweiser which is absolutely the funniest thing I saw the entire time. Good rule of thumb for an average guy is do your homework. If you like a malty beer go for a Porter or Scottish variety ale. If you love aromatic hops go for an Indian Pale Ale. If you like a very lite beer drink something made from 2 row malt/corn flake with only tetanang or perle hops. Most peoples tastes fall into one of those 3 categories.
Why would anyone from Scotland drink Bud???? I don't know of any Scottish beer (they do have whiskey tho right?), but I'm sure they could at least drink a German or English beer. Isn't Scottland part of England anyhow? (or was once?) Kinda like Canada is an extension of USA?
real men drink VB - the only beer worth drinking... in fact I need one now... (unofficially endorsed by Mr Woods)
Don't let any scots hear you say that... Scotland is a part of the united kingdom, which includes england, scotland, wales and Northern Ireland. However, it is its own country, and has its own parliament with some lawmaking power. However, it is still at its core controlled by parliament in london. It has been a part of the United Kingdom Since 1603 informally, and since 1707 formally In case you are very bored, and want to know more about scotland, take a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scotland
I just had a Boddingtons today! It was in a can. But there's a special something inside that we you open the can it emmits thousands of bubbles. I guess it's to keep the beer the same as if it was in a cask. It wasn't bad at all! Really nice for a beer in a can. I still like Strongarm in a cask, but Boddingtons is very nice. I might buy it at a local store. I wonder how expensive it is.
Just for your information, I get the impression that people *outside* of Britain don't distinguish "lager", "stout", "bitter" etc. as separate entities and call it all "beer". That being said, Grolsch is the shit. Heineken is just plain, don't take any guff from these swine (though it is brewed in Leiden, the brewery is like 5km from my house).
That is a probably a true statement. We (people across the pond) don't differe between lager, ale, bitter, etc. WTF is a bitter anyways. Is it bitter? (like a lemon?) And is a sprite called sprite in england or lemon juice? I could never figure that out.
the brewing scene in the US is actually quite active...I get my equipment from homebrewery.com... btw. some of us know the differences. by definition a lager is a top fermented drink whereas ales and most all beer if bottom fermented and also fermented at higher temperatures. Stouts tend the contain the most alcohol (not including barley wines) and grolsch is quite good but I don't like the cascade hops used in it as much as others.
Please tell me your joking. Nothing I hate more then the rat water known as VB. And the price for a case of the shit is a joke. You want a good cheap beer get Carlton Draught or Tasman Bitter. Or pay the extra $10 and get some quality like Coopers Red or Cascade premium.
If you tell me the brand and info I can taste it with the master brewer in our homebrew association and let you know roughly the barley and hops used. That is if he doesn't already know. He's a master brewer from Germany who's been doing it for 35 years or so.
See if you can buy some Riggwelter from Blacksheep Brewery, that beer kicks ass! Also Timothy Taylors Landlord, really smooth & delicious (mmmmmmust go to pub now.......
