Since when it stopped being about free stuff you got at launch and press events and it became some dumb hiphop slang?

Honest question, I missed the "transition" if that ever happened...

Sounds like someone's getting salty over hype! THAT'S SO PRINGLES! IT'S MAHVEL BABY!

And if anything's even more annoying than fighting game slang, it's the terms used by people who play games like DotA.

I think it's an inadvertent hijacking. In that context, 'swag' is usually short for swagger, I think.

Back in my day, swag was called freebies or premiums.
Not sure when the switchover ocurred.

Yeah, it's annoying how they use that word nowadays.

Surely more an OT conversation than general gaming, though?

What does it even mean in its current usage? I hear it all the time, but I don't really understand.

Any merch really, so if get a free hat or even buy a hat that's related to a game/movie or cartoon what ever, it's considered swag.

I'd never call anything "swag" unless I was being a smartass. I just call it merch. I ain't no teenybopper :p

By the way Jamtex, that image just made me lol

I always thought swag stood for Stuff We All Get.

I think you meant "incredibly retarded". Anything that's used with a hashtag to describe things on Twitter is, really...like #foodgasm (ugh)

You only live once. Unless you're James Bond, of course.

It's used by teenagers on Twitter and Deviant art to justify their retardedness.

in 007's case twice... or 6 times (7 if you count Niven in the parody Casino Royale)

Totally off subject WAY off subject But I hear the next Bond..the one after Skyfall might be directed by Chris Nolan! FUCK YEAH!
