a PAL BrandNew one will definetly cost more than that, but also the NTSC-U versions go on ebay for 30 to almost 80$ for awesome conditions sometime (in UK/Germany) but i know they are much cheaper at some stores over at you ;)

I suppose it sold well where I live, since the last Arc the Lad collection complete with box I have seen around my area was about Summer 2002. And that was the one that I bought for myself! They have it at our Gamestop-used-without the box. Without the box, its worthless to me.

Personally, I paid 31,000 yen for Sapphire, but I could easily get that much back for it, so no sweat.

There's a PCB coming out later this month that will cost... a LOT, I'll just say that, and the price will do nothing but go down. :(

Hmm, I have been lucky and aquired most of my collection below the current value of the items.

A few 'I must have it, who cares' the price incidents:

Panorama Cotton with Ocha cup $199
Yuna Tony bee gun controllers [Original release] $340 (Yes I am a fool :crying:)
Metal Slug 3 (AES) new $328

    ^_^_^

When the Mexican economy fell apart in late 1994, games went from costing 220 pesos (fifty-something dollars) to costing 500 pesos and above (but still fifty-something dollars or more).
I recall paying over 500 pesos for Chrono Trigger in august 1996. That might be the only game I paid more than 50 dollars for. And it was worth it.
I think I paid 600 pesos for Final Fantasy 8 when it came out too, but I had some games to trade in, so I didn't pay in full.

I did get the PS2 close to launch, though (can't get systems AT launch in the black market), so it probably cost 100 dollars more than it would have cost some eight months down the road.

I'm talking about when it got launched, it was that expensive because nintendo refused to publish it. I know i can get sealed copies by the dozen NTSC that is for $10 a piece.
