I just saw in EGM that a Nintendo World Championship cart went for $6100. While that is pretty crazy, I seem to remember a euro version of Kizuna Encounter going for $12000. Sheer insanity, but something tells me that higher prices have been paid.

It was definitely Growlanser generations for me, too. Second is Dragon Force, Third is Arc the Lad collection. Anything Working Designs is usually rare and/or expensive. Usually both.

    hardware or proto/beta stuff aside.

Maybe Zenki FX that must have been 300 pounds ish. It was new!

Of course neogeo stuff is a whole different story.

Go for it, slug 3 is my series favourite at the moment. I just have the cheaper end of neogeo and stuck with the ps2 where possible. I'll get them when I have the cash...

Except Arc the Lad collection. It must be PS1/PS4 (USA, factory sealed not so long ago) for me. About 100$ each.

About me, it was probably some Mega Drive game, but even there I'm almost sure none of them cost over 50 eur. By the time I got one, the madness of titles going around 75/80 eur. (which was almost the cost of the console around 1995) was in it's peak, and during Christmas later that year, the most expensive titles cost 60 eur. tops.

But then again, between picking one game at 50, and ten costing 5, I'd go with the later. I'm a bargain bin/used store whore.

I put in a bid of $165 yesterday for a Radiant Silvergun cartridge... but I got outbid :-(
After that, I think it's a Saturn Street Fighter Zero 3 boxset at 6600 yen.

This is pretty lame, but the most I've paid for a game was $60 something for Tony Hawk 2 on the Dreamcast. It was an x-mas gift for my brother, and was sold out everywhere when I went to look for it (hell, if Target had had it in stock, it was on sale there for $20 at the time). Ended up paying the rediculous price at Funcoland (it was new, at least).

Personally speaking, it was £100 (~$185) for Les Schtroumpfs Autour du Monde (Master System).

As far as I know, the $12.5K Kizuna Encounter is still the highest price paid for any videogame.

You could easily found it for about 50$ 1-2 years ago (maybe you still can, I haven't checked lately). It obviously didn't sold well compared to other WD games.

Please tell me this either wasn't recently or that it is really rare in PAL format. I saw it brand new a while back for like $10.00 US.
