Now this should be the most disappointing and not the worst and you should have had paid a reasonable price for it so any Y1000 yen specials don't count. For me it must be Motorstorm on the Playstation 3, the TGS demo offered so much but the execution of the game when it came out left a lot to be desired. No multiplayer (Japanese version), no quick racing options, no real options, no choosing the vehicle you want to race on the course you want (unlike the TGS demo) and one of the worse front ends of any game, I got bored of it quickly and rarely play it much, paided near full price for it too. :crying:
in the last 5 years it would be Sengoku Blade Cannon for the PSP. what a holy crap was that?! (of course i do not count 10yen crap games out of the junk box, which i bought but probably never will play in my whole live).
most current dissapointing game for me is pirate of the caribbian for the 360, graphicially its really good, but the gameplay is as weak as some watered down homebrew cider, run around a bit, get into a sword fight for 5 minutes, use special move, run around a bit more, another sword fight, special move, etc. etc. its a shame as well as i was really looking forward to it
Having never played Ridge Racer in my life (and friends banging on about it for ages), I decided to purchase Ridge Racer 6 on the 360. Now THAT was a monumental waste of time. Not only boring, but I hated the controls, found nothing (and I mean NOTHING) to push me forward in my interest it was the ultimate yawn a minute. Rubbish! <I will now have 100's of people saying how wonderful it was....I'd still disagree> My main concern regarding disappointment at the moment is that I have been waiting for "Alone in the Dark" for the 360 since the day it was announced. I started that particular game back on the PSx and I am praying it's not a disappointment.
<I will now have 100's of people saying how wonderful it was....I'd still disagree> now that i call a real strange point of view. ridge racers are, beside of daytona and outrun, my most beloved arcade racers:nod:
Game Wise: Twisted Metal for the PSP. It was so easy to beat and there was nothing else to do after. It and the PSP ended up being wastes of money for me. Machine Wise: Counter-Strike Source. It runs piss poorly on this machine of mine.
I must say that Red Steel was rather disappointing for me as I had expected a completle different game where you actually could use the sword. >=/
For me it was FFX-2, I was looking forward to it after thoroughly enjoying FFX but X-2 felt like a mix of Final Fantasy and a Barbie game Pro Evolution Soccer 5 was pretty crap too. Oh and STALKER gets a mention, but I wouldn't of even bothered to play that game if it wasn't in development for so long. (pretty much every PSP game I've played so far should get a mention too)
Phantasy Star Universe: Sega decided to take a similar WoW approach this time and made fans like me dislike it tremendously
1080 Avalanche.... I don't know. I loved the original so much back in the day, but the formula is really stale in comparision to the other snowboarding games out there. It just felt like a mediocre snowboard racer game. I was expecting alot more from a game that took so long to finish.
Recently. Wario Ware Smooth Moves Why? Wario Ware Twisted was far superior and it only accepted one axis of rotation.
I really liked avalanche, but then i played SSX 3 and was blown away with the graphics and the fun gameplay, despite being more shallow
well like Jamtex i was dissapointed with motorstorm on the PS3 I had heard all about how rubbish it was but i reserved judgement on the game untill i actually played it and realised it was nowhere as good as i thought it would be I have also been dissapointed with a few gamecube games not because they were rubbish or anything just because they were never really how i expected them to be like
Battle Heat PC-FX.. FMV fighter and it really sucked big time! and being the only fighter on the PC-FX makes it even worse...
Terminator on the Megadrive, spend £50 at the time and finished the bloody game in 15 minutes...:banghead:
Biggest disappointment? Daytona for the Sega Saturn. I bought the Saturn for $399 when it officially launched and knew that I wasn't going to be getting an arcade-perfect port based on the import reviews and whatnot. But it was far worse than even I could imagine. Grainy visuals, 20fps, and worst of all...broken control system --the powerslides were completely wrong -- it was just a huge insult to gamers everywhere. Thinking back, I wish downloadable patches could have been a reality back in the 32 bit era...would have made things somewhat bearable.
FF Crystal Chronicles and FFX-2. I'm a huge FF fan, but I hate those two. FFX-2 should have never existed and FF:CC is just really boring if you play it alone (and I've got no one to play this game with, all my friends are more sports games players)
