I couldn't agree more, FF:CC was so incredibly boring, and I didn't have 3 friends with GBA's and cables and time to play with either so after 1 hour I never touched it again, and that for €60.
Okay, I'm going to risk it. Twilight Princess Why? After all that time waiting, I completed it in two days. Plus, I had to wait 2 weeks after the Wii owners got the game to get it on the Gamecube. Sure, it was fun. But 2 days? And that was with all the heart pieces, the extra dungeon thing, etc...
Machinewise the Nintendo DS was a BIG disappointment, even when I consider my XB360 dying in less than 30days. Gamewise - too many, but I distinctly remember FIFA '96 being nowhere near as good as FIFA '95 on the Megadrive. Very disappointing indeed.
Project Gotham Racing 3 - Utter rubbish cars, no need to change any car once you get the atom. Mustang Cobra R has specs listed of a base model car, and performance is modeled after said specs. Waste of $59.99.
Subwar 2050 from Microprose and I-WAR from Ocean, I never played more than 3 minutes each, and I still have them...And I like simulation games, most of the time...
But how long were you playing it? Yeah, you could beat almost anything in 2 days (except maybe RPGs, and even some of them can be beat quickly) if you just play all day. I had around 70 or so hours clocked on mine. Anyways, it was a super hyped game. Of COURSE its not going to be God-like. Anything can be dissapointing if they make you think Jesus himself is going to walk through the TV, metaphorically speaking.
I've played that (havn't got a 360, but meh) and the only good car's the Atom. Everything else is such an ass to drive, and when you crash it (which you will), they spin uncontrollably until you stop a 0, reverse and try again, staying in 1st until you're on a straight again. Then again, the Atom is a great car to drive, pity it's max isn't that high compared to the Lambos etc.
FFXII, $70 to get the collectors edition shipped the day of thinking it might be worth something. Not only has the game been discounted by $10 within the first year but it's been on sale recently. As a plus I REALLY hate the fighting system, with a passion. Also spent $35 at Funcoland or something for a copy of Super Mario RPG that hard locked before the first boss. Never figured it out and just gave it away one day. Jaded me for life about buying used games from brick and mortars.
i wasnt hugely impressed with it, graphics were good, but i couldnt get used to the controls so i gave up, although my 8yr old has pretty much finished it!
Woah there chap! I don't know exactly how much time I spent on it, but it wasn't an all day affair (it was over a weekend, so I imagine somewhere around 20 or so hours). I know the game was hyped, but that doesn't mean I bought into it all. I mean, I didn't purchase a Wii just to get it early or anything! Hell, the only reason I got it at launch was I got staff discount on it. I can still be disappointed in the shortness of it though, even if you aren't
I would have to say Deus Ex:IW was the most disappointing game I ever bought. Part of me knew I shouldn't fork out $50 after playing the demo, but the other part of me had been waiting for 3 years for the sequel and wasn't about to wait for a copy to find its way to the net in order to try it out. It's not that the game is horrible, just that the game ran slow as hell even on nice setups. I can live with smaller maps and less choice(in some ways, though in others IW offered more choice). But the frequency of loading points was the final straw. At the time I had a 1.2ghz cpu and 512mb of ram, which as anyone who's played the game will know was not very enjoyable. I don't mind 1-2min load times if there are only a couple per map, but when you need to get back to the start of the map and there are 5 load points on the way it makes it hard to enjoy the game. One of these days when I upgrade my current setup with some more ram(only 1gb now) I plan on playing the game again and seeing if it's any more enjoyable with the technical problems.
