Well, What is it? I wouldn't say I'm a fanboy but I love Nintendo. Mainly because of my childhood with the SNES and N64. What keeps me coming back is Zelda, I can't miss a game in the series. (except wind waker I couldn't stand the style) My dream job would have to be taking Reggie's job. I could totally see myself doing it and be capable of doing it! A little rant about myself: I've always had a weird obsession with electronics. Since I was 2 I have loved taking things apart. My mom would walk the dog and pick up vcrs, computers, printers, or anything out of the trash for me to tear down. My dad would bitch because there would be screws everywhere and It would wreck the vacuum lol. Eventually I figured out how to make new things and put them back together. In elementary school we had a contest for who could make the coolest shoe. Mine was a one with a fan on the back and a rudder on the bottom. You could fly it like an RC plane or fly in it. It was a working model with a RC remote and all. I of course won. I'm kinda of a jack of all trades. I fix/flash phones religiously, work on my car, fix electronics, solder, and do construction. I flip anything I can make money on. I love modifying things to try to make them better. Its one of the funnest things to hack or add something and see the benefits. Weather its adding an rgb mod, overclocking, or adding dynamat to my car, I'm so excited for the results. I can see myself in business, marketing, gaming, marines, or air force. What it really comes down to is money. With the exception of ARMY, the adrenaline rush could possibly beat my lust for money. I will work a job that I hate if it pays good. With money I can still get all the gaming stuff I want, get an adrenaline rush with fast cars and expensive activities like skydiving. I can't decide, It's my first semester of college, and I'm doing this instead of studying for finals. I do well in school but I can't stand it. Who gives a fuck about George Washington or my opinion on a paper I'm forced to write. If i think hard about what I really love, it's DEV equipment and hacking. I love looking at pictures and reading about it. Only problem is I don't understand all the technical stuff. I wouldn't even know how to use it but I would absolutely love to have it. It'd be awesome to be part of a dev team hacking the Wii U and future next gen consoles! If anyone has any input on a career I listed or an idea for me It'd be appreciated! /rant
Well I'm a student in Game Development and my professor is showing me how to program small apps for my Xbox 360 Development Kit I got from here. I'm also learning how to reverse engineer Xbox 360 games and editing them in 3ds Max. I have a very high technical background in computers so understanding how dev kit's work comes naturally to me. My professor is showing us how to maximize the power of an Xbox 360 CPU & GPU without capping the limits of the consoles. I'm hoping I'll work as a game designer for a first party publisher once I'm done next year. It will be very sad to say goodbye to the homebrew community once I leave my parents place but it's something I'll never forget. I'll be part of the developer community which I think will have private sites like these but for developers like Bungie, EA, BioWare, etc. were we all connect and pass info around much like we do here.
I really wanted to be a pilot, but my eyesight let me down (military). I am almost at the place where I can afford to go and get my pilots license for smaller aircraft. I enjoy the job I have now (electrical design drafter-mining), but being a pilot would have been it for me.
I would love to work for codemasters, i applied to them but they turned me down ¬_¬ apparently a junior coder is to advanced for me
I'd quite like to be a sysadmin. I'm actually looking at an "ethical hacking and network security" course for Uni right now.
I just want a scrooge McDuck Money Bin only filled with Video games. I haven't quite figured out how to get that rich yet though it will probably involve an EMP and a few ATMs......
My dream job would have to consist out of that what I like the most and do best: Come up with an idea, present it, sell it. I wouldn't like to do anything that has to do with video game development or retail sale (like a small shop) because I know that it would probably destroy my love for video games very quickly. I definitely do consider joining the gaming industry on a managerial level though, it may get me awesome connections for collector's items and I already have a lot of expertise of the history and keypoints of the industry. But I'll see... for now I'm just working on my degree and I'm really open to anything. My dreamjob would require me to be successful and it would have to be competitive. Unfortunately I do not gain any joy from a job that does not have me compete with others (like a retailer in a perfectly competitive market without the possibility of expansion). @GoH Getting rich is possible for pretty much anyone, you just have to be intelligent, confident and hard-working... OR a good combination of at least 2 of these things.
Experimental physicist doing fundamental research, living the dream actually... I hope the dream won't change though... Got *lots* of free geeky 'toys' to play with, some of them you guys would be jealous of! I kinda feel like a kid living in a Toy R' US! The downside is that you're piss poor and working 80 hours/day for a salary that wouldn't allow you to buy the hardware you use, not even after thirty years...
