I tried compiling a list of when some Xecuter chips released, to gain a history lesson. When did the coolrunners come out? Is there really a coolrunner Rev nothing and Rev A? I did find a Rev B. I assume it came before C and are each sequential improvments? I'm told TX makes no claim to Rev D. Why did TX also create the CR4? Does it not do the same task as Coolrunners? Is there a CR4 non XL? Does CR mean CoolRunner 4? Was there a CR, CR2, and CR3 ? I promise that I really did try to confirm most of this with Google, but much of it still seems blurred to me. Thanks!

A and B, not sure when they were made, but before 2012. The Coolrunner Rev. D is not made by TX. I do believe CR still stands for Coolrunner. As far as I know there wasn't a CR2, there is indeed a CR3. Coolrunners Rev A-C are just slight sequential improvements, no major change in functionality. The Coolrunner Rev D I think had an on board oscillator to help it glitch Corona Slim consoles? The CR3 let you do RGH2 on slim consoles. I don't think there's just a regular CR4. I think they went straight to CR4 XL since it was to be their last 360 modchip. The CR4 XL does RGH2+ and R-JTAG on the various 360s, it also has a bunch of different options to fine tune it to get better boot times which you couldn't do with the Coolrunner Rev C. Although I believe they released an addon board for the Rev C at some point that let you tune it better.
Been a while since I've worked with TX coolrunners. To add to @Zeigren 's info. The coolrunner rev A was the first TX board for RGH which was based on the Xilinx CPLD coolrunner II. The coolrunner II was used in the early days to research and perfect the RGH1 hack after micro$oft had patched the jtag hack for dash after 7371. Coolrunner rev A, B, C. -> CR3, CR3 Pro, CR3 lite -> Rjtag -> CR4XL. Rjtag is not technically in the coolrunner line but it is a significant development step between cr3 and cr4. CR4XL has the ability to perform Rjtag and RGH2+. Rumours about it no longer working on phats was just drunk talk related to a dodgy batch of chips. Not sure which came first for the cr3, either pro or lite. The lites were heavily ripped off so u are unlikely to find a legit copy these days. The Rev D is also a ripoff of a Rev C. I think the C had a Cpu_rst addon that cleaned up the cpu reset signal. The CR4 is very clean and reliable. I've had no issues using it for both Rjtag and RGH2+.
lol wow... Apparently me from last year decided not to retain my own "why why why" rant. I'll thrust myself on my own assembler sword now.
Lol we all forget I only remember because I think it might be the longest post I've made on here to date, otherwise I totally would have forgotten too. Plus I didn't answer all the questions you have now back then.
