Okay. So, finishing a rather stressful day and coming back to an apartment with loud neighbours, I began to think why I'm currently where I am and what (if anything) I should have changed to better improve the situation.

Might be a sensitive topic, but... What are you doing now in terms of work/living, and WHY? :drinkers:

I work at a software company in a middle management position, which is pretty much what in line with where I think I should be given my age and education level. I live in the USA, because that's where I was born and raised.

Lately though, I've been considering a change in my career and possibly moving to a new country for a year or two. May as well experience working elsewhere to appreciate what I have as well as to immerse myself in a culture that is unfamiliar to me. There are better ways to make a living and perhaps a change of scenery is just the thing to help me see things clearer.

Been toying with the same idea. I'm just getting bored. There comes a time when age creeps up on you and the annoying lack of movement anywhere other than work becomes immediately obvious :smt009

I just quit one of my shitty jobs, now I'm doing tile laying for my main source of income, not my favorite thing to do, but good hours and decent money. I need to find a new place to live though, and I wouldn't mind getting a different car.

I work at a grocery store, in their deli. I'm also going to college as a full-time student. This summer I'm going to see if the dream I have is achievable. And I hope to get that done asap.

I somehow Forrest Gump'ed my way into a nice position.

I do support for a small trading firm in Honolulu. We relocated from Tokyo b/c the traders really wanted to live in Hawaii... and no other reason really. Technology allows us to do the exact same thing here as we did there, w/ lower costs. Support is a really loose term though. As the comany is small, and I'm the only local tech-savvy person, I cover just about everything computer related in the office... and even make house calls from time to time. I wear whatever I want, have nice hours, don't have a boss breathing down my neck, and am compensated fairly. It is the way work should be. It will suck if I ever have to get a normal job.

I'm sitting in the office surfing the net because I have nothing to do all afternoon. The boss told me that I can leave at 4:30 too :smt023 So I'll be off home in 30 minutes. Just a shame I have a 1 hour trip home via bus, train then car. Oh, why am I here? Because I need the money to feed by fetish.

I'm sitting on my ass at home, because I have no money, I don't go back to uni till next week, and I'm too lazy to leave the house. I tried looking for a job last week but gave up awfully quickly (after going to like 4 shops in town). There's a part-time vacancy in PC World, plus I know someone working there, so I really hope I get that! Though I don't know how I'd get used to actually letting people buy the shit PCs they sell there - Packard Bells, eMachines... eww!

2 months ago I worked for a english/Belgian merged electricity company as call-agent, mostly calling customers & helping them out.

sometimes I was allowed to test new hardware/Software headsets etc... but this was only once in 4 months! quit the job because it got boring. Now I'm working part time in a firm that stocks flower and grain for backery's and once I week we go deliver in Holland, Germany and the french part of belgium.

Currently sitting in my room with a tremendous headache which prevented me from doing the 90 minute commute to the University of Leiden, where I study Computer Science. Why? Because I like computers & programming. The fact that about half of the CS curriculum does not really deal with computers is kinda taken for granted. After my BSc, I plan to intersperse my MSc phase with a major in Japanese, English, History, Economy or something else entirely.

Also, I started a small bussiness with 2 friends, apart from fixing PCs at people's homes and bussiness (a very nice job I must say considering the pay) we aim at selling PCs and designing websites, but it's still in the starting up phase as of now.

I'm in my final year of a dual honours degree, doing Music Technology and Philosophy. During the summer I work in a county council pc support unit. I'm hoping to do a masters in music tech, specifically a research project on audio hardware in videogame consoles, just need to confirm funding. Once that's done, who knows, maybe a PhD (doctorate)... then we'll see who's the Game Doctor, eh Kyuu ;-)

Sitting on my ass behind my pc being unemplyed ever since i gratuated in march last year.. i'm an IT guy and the IT sector is going to shit here in holland due to outsourcing to places like india.
And with my 24 years of age i'm at that point where i get to hear "i'm sorry sir but for this job we are looking for someone a bit youger because they cost 25% an hour less"

So basicly i don't have any income because the goverment thinks i can live of my boyfriends income, i can't get an IT job because i either lack the degrees and experience they want for the job or i'm to old for the no-brainer jobs because they want young people who are way cheaper.

But it try to stay postive..got some courses starting next week and getting married in march so i hope things will brighten up.

Right this instant, I'm trying to find info on medieval scientists for a "History of Science" assignment and not reading Max Horkheimer's critical theory, which I really should but the font is really small and it's like 300 pages.
All this for graduate school. I'm sitting in front of my computer and writing this while I watch CNN. I developed some sort of addiction because I had to watch the channel almost 9 hours every day for a couple of months for one of my last college assignments last year.

Where am I in life, you ask?
I have a small, almost meaningles job as the communication department of a small Japanese language school. I am to make more people study japanese there, with a budget close to zero.
I make 150 dollars a month doing that.

I'm studying a masters in humanities, but I'm not sure if I should be there - everybody is ten years older than I am.
I'm not publishing my book yet, which is really bad. It was finished by the end of 2003, but I have no editorial to publish me. My brother will get me some information this week about that. He's already published three.

I also get some sort of pension from the government. They expect my dad to feed a family of five with the 1400 pesos they give him every month as a pension. Of course, he gets more than enough money elsewhere, so I get those for personal expenses.

I'm surrounded by used consoles. I'm very sleepy. I have to go feed my cats.
Then I'll sleep more and go visit the Authority (as I call my girlfriend) at school. She hasn't graduated yet.

    Holy FUCK!
What kind of fanatics? What or Why???
If you ever need some sort of hiding place, I have an extra room REALLY far away from Denmark.

Contact me whenever you need to in that matter.
More than happy to accomodate you.

In my Family, we know what it's like to be persecuted because of your ideas.

I hope you're safe and things don't get too serious.
