Something like $1400 on ebay. (Was it the not so rare pearl blue one that went for that?) How ever this doesnt count private sales...

Also prices have taken an amazing drop since that mad rush!

Erm i think the rarest we know of are prob the sonic 10th aniversary and the Partner dreamcast that no one even had pictures of till about a few months ago.

However there are things we have never seen proper pictures of e.g. a sakura dreamcast i think bert mentioned a few weeks aback and the Sonic DC (the one with the sonic head. We dont even know if its real really...)

    Check www.dreamcastgallery.com for pictures.

I'd say the older Set 2 & Set 4 development kits are the rarest Dreamcasts without a doubt. The only person I have seen with a set 2 is a board member, and the only Set 4 I have ever seen is the 1 I recently bought but it was damaged. Strangely they don't sell for much. Bear in mind there are thousands of partners, they just don't get sold often and the multicoloured d-direct crap pops up all the time yet they oddly go for shitloads :smt017

Depends on what you call rare...

How many times its seen for sale or how many produced.

The RX-78 is only 78 in the world buts changed hands many a time.

The sonic 10th aniversary could have been over 200 but only ever seen it change hands 3 times if that.

    mazorara

what about the mazora dc ? - its worth at least 2000 usd
    and the bio hazard stars
but i agree the gundam version is probably the rarest since there were only 79 produced-

as for the others like silver ,R7,sonic 10th ,you can really quess how many were made

    Re: mazorara

Silver was 200 units i think all the colours were 200 werent they?!

    HELP me out Bert.

The R7 is as common as Japanese tourists...

The sonic 10th god knows it varies from 10 up to 200! Tho we have yet to see a unsigned one which i think would mean there are less then we could think. Close to 10 then to 200!

Mazora i havent seen come up much so i cant really comment but i think it doesnt make as much as $2000 these days. Maybe back in the mad rush but still doubt it.

Lastly The Bio stars sold on ebay more then a few times and i seen at least two in the last couple of months so not so rare as in it changes hands quiet abit. Still very hard to find and costs quiet abit when you do!

The RX-78 i think has the smallest production run that we officialy know of? So yeah it is prob the rarest in numbers but it does change hands abit. Well at least alot more then it should and more then the Sonic 10th!

There is no doubt in my mind that the rarest dreamcast is the Space channel 5 one which Tetsuya Mizuguchi owns. There is only one in the world and if he ever decides to part with it,I'm sure it would go for an absolute fortune. To see pics of it go to Bert's site.I gave him some pics last week of it.

EDIT:He has not got the pictures up yet but I have sent copies of the article they were in to Yakumo and Bert and I'm sure they will have them up soon.

Chu chu rocket was erm spray painted by some company in Germany i think it was. Bert has one of their dreamcasts and it looks very good.

I will talk to him tonight about the pictures of the SC5 one.

BY the way the guy whos meant to have the SC5 one is the creator of it? and sega rally 2?

I'll send the email right now Mika L.

Sorry I lost contact with you ages ago,I was going through a particuarly rough period in my life.

Check your email in the next five mins.

Also that Dreamcast you have just posted is the most awesome thing I have ever seen.It is sooooooooo beautiful.I take it that it is only available for 1000's of pounds anyway.I would love to have one but sadly this will never happen, guess I'll just have to make do with my dc with the yellow replacement top from Dreamcast Direct.I think it looks good. :smt023

You never know Paulo since Mizuguchi no longer works for Sega and may auction it for a special fundraiser or something similar.

OK so I may be having a little fantasy to myself now, wonder if smilebit had any of these made up for them such as a Jet Set Radio DC or something similar.
