    >>Silver was 200 units i think all the colours were 200 werent they?!
I've never seen any news item or comment on Sega Japan site which said numbers. It's more confused because 6 months ago Sega Direct were offering some via the competition to buy.

    >>The sonic 10th god knows it varies from 10 up to 200!
I have been told by a Senior Sega executive that only 10 Sonics were delivered to Sega Of France in Paris. 4 of them went to staff. I don't know what happened to the other 6. It's not to say there weren't lots more - the latter comment was just for Sega of France. I've been told there were US Sonic DCs as well.

    >> Tho we have yet to see a unsigned one which i think would mean there are less then we could think.
Here's a picture of an unsigned one:

    >>Mazora i havent seen come up much so i cant really comment but i think it doesnt make as much as $2000 these days.
    >> Maybe back in the mad rush but still doubt it.
One of the board members here sold his for $3300 dollars to mb4vikingman (as he was known). I know that Japanesegaijin was offered up to $3000 by a buyer from the far east if he could obtain one(which he couldn't at the time).

    >>Lastly The Bio stars sold on ebay more then a few times and i seen at least two in the last couple
    >>of months so not so rare as in it changes hands quiet abit. Still very hard to find and
    >>costs quiet abit when you do!
I am not convinced that a STARS has ever been on ebay more than once over the last year or so(segakid1985 being the most recent seller).

    >>There is no doubt in my mind that the rarest dreamcast is the Space channel 5 one which Tetsuya Mizuguchi owns.
I guess we should define what is meant by rare.....otherwise we'll always have different answers...

    Maybe the questions should be:
What is the rarest production run Dreamcast in terms of limited pieces existing?
What is the rarest production dreamcast in terms of being available to buy (via auction/dealer etc.)?
What is the rarest piece of development kit?

What are the rarest competition dreamcasts? - there will be alot of these.

    >>There was a Gazoo dreamcast I believe, a car dreamcast.
    Any more info?

Umm i was under the impression it was 200... maybe from ebay auctions or somewhere else will try and find out more.

Umm so there we go Sega France isnt that big is it? So maybe other Sega offices got larger amounts....

Erm ive heard many times and i think i showed u a few pics of a competiton that was giving them away. It is known they were a prize for a few competitions so maybe thats what happened to the other 6 in France.

When was this tho... anyone sell one recently?

Ive seen at least two over the last few months. (one being segakid and another was one of the big sellers on ebay cant remember his name)

Also a shop on the web has one for sale.

    http://www.estarland.com/product16698.html

Mazora Numbered certificate, 002/500 This Dreamcast is autographed.... $1500

    http://www.estarland.com/SegaDreamcast.product.16697.html

    Seaman X-mas X-Mas Package numbered 000 out of 850.

Does this mean there are 851?! So maybe all LE editions have one more then the number stated?! e.g. RX-78 is actualy 79 consoles?

    http://www.estarland.com/SegaDreamcast.cat.I.product.16732.html

Black D-Direct also says bottom of page 200 made...
same for the pink one they got i think....

Edit- Game choice club claim a more healthy 500 made...

Anwyays i thought i saw a stars on the site before maybe its sold?

Could all just be bullshit from the site on their stock status but still abit of info...

Yeah however only the one Dj898 posted is really very rare. There is a blue stars one (200 made) and the red clair one (1800 made). The Clair pops up alot the other is much harder to find.

Paulo, like you I've also heard the figure 200, but never seen any news/sega item saying it....200 sounds quite believable...enough to generate general interest but low enough to be special....(800 in total across all the 4 LE coloured ones)

    >>When was this tho... anyone sell one recently?
The Maziora was sold ~2 years ago I think....the seller comes on this board sometimes...

    >>Anwyays i thought i saw a stars on the site before maybe its sold?
You might be thinking of Golden Shop, they have one. I asked for pics of it ages ago and he sent me pics of the Claire....think he might have been puling a fast one...

    >>There were two Biohazard DC'ssold lately, and both of them were posted in the "post
    >>you ebay findings..." thread. One by me, and the other by dj898.
Ahhh....you're talking about the Claire....it's specifically the STARS being mentioned here...Mr homersimpson bought that STARS the other day on ebay...

Qatmix does indeed have an unusual DC!....and it's official as well....(in terms of casing etc)....looks the biz...

Sorry about that, I don't know too much about LE Dreamcast systems, so I thought they were the same. I only know about the RX-78 Dreamcast because i am a big Gundam fan and that is really the only LE Dreamcast i want, too bad there were only 78 of them made.

I wish i had that kind of cash, but sadly i do not (I'm only 17!). I do hope to get it one day though.

  13. The rarest Dreamcast ever is the GSL Limited Edition. Only 1 unit was ever made worldwide, and is in the hands of a private collector. The unit sports the typical white Dreamcast shell, but the lid is an opaque purple color, with the orange Dreamcast logo. The GSL Dreamcast also has a drive door switch installed in the back of the machine. It was released in the NTSC/U territories at an undisclosed company's internal raffle.

A signed "Maziora" Dreamcast is the rarest LE DC.
Although the STARS and Custom DC had a lower production run, the Maziora is the highlight of all LE Dreamcasts.

That's just my humble opinion and from my experience a Maziora is the hardest to get LE Dreamcast.

If you ask for the rarest PAL Dreamcast then it could only be the Sonic 10th. anniversary Dreamcast.

Of course there are some not so well known LE Dreamcasts and also unique ones - but that's another story. It's nearly impossible to get one of these if they're once in collectors hands. Look at the ChuChuRocket DC - i'll never give that one away.

The 000/850 XMas Seaman DC is a D-Direct prototype of this edition. It was given away in a contest, like it was also done with nr.0 of all D-Direct color edition DC's. I know the one which is holding the pearl-pink D-Direct prototype, it's just a regular pearl-pink with a special D-Direct letter.

There are also 50 clear-red Biohazard Dreamcasts, which were sold by D-Direct only. These ones have no LE-number stickers on their back.
I wouldn't say that they're worth more or really that rare, as everyone could just remove the sticker from the back.

I'll shed a little light on what I know.

Mazora: Don't know the numbers, andI've never seen it on YJ.
Stars: 200 -- these run about 120,000 yen on YJ (this is what I paid for mine)
Biohazard Cliar: 1800 made. One that was opened, and was missing the cap to the VMU sold for about 12,500 yen a few months ago. :(
RX-78: Never seen one on YJ. Presumably more than any of the others mentioned.
Seaman Clear: 800 made? Pretty expensive. 80,000 - 100,000 yenish.
Seaman Xmas: Less than above... still runs 50,000 plus as far as I remember.
Silver: Way more than 200 made. One was sealed and sold recently on YJ in 30,000 yen area.
    Pearl Blue: Same as Silver
    Pearl Pink: Same as Silver
Super Black Model: Originally only 200 were made (you had to win a drawing and then pay for it). They had such a good turn out, they made more. Sealed, this one should run less than the Silver, Pearl Blue and Pearl Pink models.

Not sure if you'll count these one of a kind DC's. I'd rather have the Kyasuko one than any of the ones mentioned above.

There were 850 Xmas Seamans for sure...(certificate confirms it)

Maybe some of the Japanese ones that we haven't even got pics of might count as rarer than the ones we're talking about here?....just a comment...

The clear Seaman DC is limited to 500pc., the XMas Seaman DC to 850pc. There's a nr. 000/500 and 000/850 of both (D-Direct prototypes). That's 100% true !

The pearl pink DC is the rarest of the D-Direct color collection, followed by the pearl blue, black and silver. I don't know any numbers but the pearl pink has the lowest production run, maybe it's only 200. I only saw it twice.

Anyone have any idea how rare a UK "Address Checker" DC is? It's a DC with a different PCB that sticks out of the case and has LEDs etc on. The weird thing is that it's a Japanese DC with an EU bios that only plays EU games.

I've only heard of one other, and that was an unboxed US version on the old Assembler forum.
