Be it any model 5000,5500,7000,7500 etc etc, I could of gotten a 7500 on eBay but it got bought , so if anyone here got one, can you please post pics of it?
Aye, I've got a DESR-5000 - the 160Gb one. It's currently in the hi-fi stack, so I can't take good pics right now, but a google search should throw some up. What else did you want to know?
The number one thing I want to know is, is there anyway to get the language in English?, I want pictures also, because the ones on the net I already have seen.......its a geek thing .
"The number one thing I want to know is, is there anyway to get the language in English?, " I think no, but the menu is very simple (like on PSP).
I've read on the net that you can change it to english, though I am not sure if that is 100% correct, wouldn't you have to use a modified firmware? Though if there isnt any solutions then no biggy I am stilll going to get one , Also does anyone have pictures of the inside? (forgot to ask firstime)
i have one also (160gb) you can not change the language, but if you have a PSP or PS3 it isnt much trouble making a small guide on how to use it. my main complaint about the unit is the lack of decent picture cables, no RGB/component output is a bloody disgrace on what otherwise is a lovely machine OH:
It is possible to get component out on it - the PSX's have a Japanese D2 connector at the back, which includes component signals. You just need to get a D2->Component cable - I got one that was intended for an IO Gear DVD player & that works just fine on my setup. I'll see if I can find where I brought it from later tonight. [Edit: I think I got my cable from here -> http://www.digitalconnection.com/products/cables/mad4cp05.asp The same store also appears to have a shorter (and less expensive) version now.]
is there anyway of contacting Sony regarding the PSX DESR? It looks like they stop support on this console since 2005 , they were planned to bring it in the US.
They didn't sell as well as expected in Japan, so launches in the other territories never really got off the ground. As for contacting Sony, there's an inquiry by mail link off their PSX support web pages, but it's all in Japanese. You can use google to translate a fair bit, but I've no idea if they'll take questions in English from there.
^^just has I figured, going to buy one someday, but right now I am upgrading my pc to play Crysis when it comes out in November (few days after me and my brothers birthdays, mine 12th, his 14th ) plus other few currently released and upcoming new releases. I doubt they will bring a new PSX DESR out, since the PS3 is basically like it already.
Here's one I sold in January 2007: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300072257185 No clue why the listing is still available through eBay but I just reloaded the pics if you want to see them. Looks like the menus are in Japanese only. They're done the same was as the PSPs so it's pretty easy to figure out from the icons.
I remember seeing a few on ebay a while ago, not seen any for a bit now though. I wouldn't mind one if it sells for $400...
