http://sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse/LEmono/TLE2008Feb21/TLE2008Feb21.html Sorry Yakumo et al., you won't be able to view it down there! As most of us seem to be in Europe or America, we should be able to see it... it'll be quite late here in Europe, though! I think I'll try and take a look, weather permitting. Anyone else?
No prooblem! ;-) Let's hope for clear skies. Unlike a Solar Eclipse, it is safe to view directly, even with a telescope if you like. Unfortunately, I'm not sure where mine is, not that it's a great telescope! I might try to get some pics if it looks good, though.
It'll start at about 11 pm here, anyway I can see the weather won't help. It's already hot and wet as hell (almost 2 am and there're still 25ºC and 80% humidity) and every single forecast I read this afternoon said it's gonna rain a lot...
Bah! I see stuff like this every day as some guys fat arse blocks the light from the train window every morning  . Yakumo
It's been a couple of years since I've seen a total one & I have better camera equipment now! Sadly though, rain is in the forecast, so I might not get to see this one.:crying: Crossing fingers, though - the changes in colour as the moon gets eaten up always make for some nice pics.
naah its 4ocklock in the morning here.. question is if i have the energy to stay up that late or to get up that early.. completely clear skies (at the time of writing this) point to a good view for those who have decided to see it anyways
My brother has just text me about this. He got himself some new telescope equipment about 2 weeks ago and this is his first chance to use it for something productive. He must be sick of looking at the tidy blonde next door. I personally don't think I can get up any earlier than I already do to view this but some pics and details would be good if anyone is going to go that far!
Same here Not a single cloud in the sky (and we're supposed to trust in forecasts?) A shame that it's currently 1:30 am here and I gotta wake up early tomorrow, I gotta get some sleep now, at least I could see 'til the moon got blocked...
Well, it was too cloudy here, couldn't see a single star so I realised it wasn't going to be the right conditions. Shame! Spot, thanks for the pics, they're great!
