LoL those laws are just for tourist consumption, didnt exists in reality :-D Well not during my 6 year stay in Silly S'pore anyways. youngsters, yuppies they kiss and fingering each other in public they didnt go to jail, Gum is just prohobited if you bought it in singapore (in which nobody dares to sell) but if you are foreigners comin to the country the small amount of gum carried is consumable there. Those laws you see on the internet arent practiced much at all. Well Singapore is expensive thats for sure, a bit more ex than costs of living in japan, but below switzerland. As always though, nobody would like to live in singapore unless they got money, it sjust too costly, but food wise its cheap for most of everything else its quite exp, Game magazines costs USD$15 mostly, due to I dunno what tax. Still if youre rich Silly spore is a safe haven, the local government there protects so much whomever come and stay legally. Many corrupt ppl from neighboring country stay there and prosper, no extradition clauses, so cant get them out of silly spore. Singlish is very hard to understand yes, but being once british and japanese colonized Silly spore do have some good english speakers. Well for convenient living as a foreigner prolly you would be expected to have around 7K ~ 8K income (american dollars not silly spore dollars btw) with all costs calculated, with that sort of income range you can still save 1k a month perhaps But as Yakumo said, silly spore do have a harmoneous multi cultural society, you dont get religious riots or any cultural clash there, TV stations in all languages catering the chinese, malaysian/indonesian, indian, english
