I like 3do The system itself was kind of neat and there were actually some pretty decent games released for it. I especially liked the various gameshow titles and some of the EA stuff. The thing that really put a lot of people off was just the launch price. I still remember standing in a game shop in Los Angeles the day the system was released watching a teenage kid paying $800 for the system with $20 bills. I didn't get into 3do into it was being phased out and I was able to acquire a complete US library at an average of $5 per game.
Two words: Army Men. :smt043 Now if we're talking about the console, it was a good idea with poor execution. A 32-bit, CD-based system with chainable controllers was an amazing idea at the time, but the software was a little lacking. However, the gems it does have really do shine - people mentioned Return Fire, SSF2T, Samuari Showdown, and a few others I can't remember at the time. It was just that there were far, far more mediocre games. And shame on all of you that said the Jaguar sucked! :angry
LOL i stand by what i said. Not a single one of those consoles impressed me in any way. In fact after playing i needed a :drinkers: to get that nasty taste they left in my mouth. Thank god for having friends with poor console buying decisions, it meant i had the chance to see how bad they really were. I would have felt gutted if i had paid cash for any of them. :smt043
Got my 3DO flight stick this morning, the sukka came sealed/new (15 Euros :drinkers: ), had to open it, seems a swell piece, cant wait for my Wing Commander games to arrive :smt033 What I wanna know though.......are any 3DO's full screen? I have a pal one and every game is "framed" my an inch black border.
Can someone posts some good screenshots. I've never seen any 3DO games. Also, how does this switchable controller thing work?
I saw a mint copy of the original version of "D" for the japanese 3DO today. I was tempted to buy it even though I don't own the console. Thought it was great on the saturn years ago. Just a shame that the saturn version used crappy Cinipack Yakumo
D is indeed a nice game but at least on 3do, it is a bit sluggish in the sense that it is very slow. Also there is no fun if your character cannot actually die!!!
FMV on the 3DO looks *very* good I must say. I'm a bit curious on the Wing Commander III port but my copy is sealed and I'm gonna keep it that way :smt045
