Mad World

It is in 1 word: F A N T A S T IC!

It's good that something is coming out for the Wii that isn't another childish 3rd party game, I hear a lot of crap when it comes to discussions of the Nintendo Wii, Hopefully this is only the start of some great games being released on the Wii.

I tried to order it from Amazon US but they're being arses again saying that they won't ship to Japan.. That's bull though since I've bought 4 Wii games from Amazon US so far. I'll try again in a week. No doubt the Japanese one will be toned down like No more heroes was. Anyway, I ended up buying the new Sonic game. I honestly thought the last one was a good platformer if you ignore the fact it should be a Sonic game.

This game does look really cool, just what the Wii needs: a 3rd party game that's actually good. My Wii has been gathering dust ever since I got bored of SSBB, so this would finally be a reason to play it...

Kinda off-topic: can you play import games on Wii nowadays? I'm thinking of getting Tatsunoko vs. Capcom at some point too, and I doubt that will ever get a release outside Japan (and if it does, it'll be a long time from now).

Apparently it's not coming out in japan at all. When you get it can you let me know if it boots using the homebrew channel with Gecko OS.

Looks like the best thing coming out for the Wii in awhile. That is, until the new Vanillaware game comes out! Next month couldn't come any faster!

really? Now that's just stupid. Now I'll have to get the US version. I don't really like getting US Wii games. The quality of the cases is very flimsy compared to the Japanese ones and the instructions are very thin without much thought gone in to them :(

Also I have read the game will work with Gecko OS but you need the 002 fix.

Madworld developer trivia

I just received the obligatory MADWORLD marketing e-mail from Sega of America. I wasn't 100% clear on the developer before reading this fine print at the bottom the e-mail:

-------
PlatinumGames Inc. is an independent entertainment development studio located in Osaka, Japan and is dedicated to making high quality, next generation games for a variety of hardware platforms. Previously established as ODD Ltd. in February 2006, the company changed its name to ODD Inc. in July 2006. In October 2007, ODD merged with SEEDS Inc., a company established by ex-key members of Clover Studio Co. Ltd, a subsidiary company of Capcom. Thereafter the company changed its name to PlatinumGames Inc.

-------

I always assumed it was a euro developer just based on the visuals of the game, like so many other of SEGA's releases lately. Guess I shouldn't assume anything. It seems it was designed with a more western look in mind, as is becoming the trend.

Kind of sad, though, that it won't get a JP release. I wonder how long into development PlatinumGames knew of that fact?

It's probably not getting a release in japan due to how poorly no more heroes sold over there. I'd imagine this game is probably targeted towards people who bought no more heroes.

You know, I have access to a private FTP with pretty much ever Wii game on there but I've yet to download one single game. ISO's just don't interest me anymore  I'll just have to wait a little for Amazon to start shipping games to Japan agin. THey seem to go on and off all the time.

Is it out?? I'll have to check it out. I have yet to really play No More Heroes though. As shallow as it sounds, I'm pretty sure NMH is awesome looking but the shitty picture the Wii gives my HDTV kind of throws me off. The gameplay was pretty good though.
