Can't wait to get my grubby hands on this one! Release date I think said March 09, but you know how games always get delayed.
i don't think this title will get delayed -unless there's a sound marketing/strategic reason behind it. It's not Zelda or anything that expansive or complex. still, I m looking forward to this one. I need my dose of nostalgia
that one looks damn ugly. still perefer the original on FC/NES, becoz that is an alltime classic which will never die.
I never played the original but did play the SFC version. Can't say I was overly impressed by that version. Yakumo
I loved Super Punchout. I loved it. LOVED IT. But I have a feeling I may not love this one, since the gameplay may be different. We'll see. I hope for the best.
It's nice of Nintendo to give the usual titties a break from the constant milking. Punch Out and Super Punch Out were awesome games. Though I'm sure people are still wondering when Kid Icarus will return. Seems people have been waiting awhile.
I have a feeling we may see that one later next year... It's possible Nintendo is still keeping it under wraps. It's also possible it's not coming at all!...... :-(
I love the idea of kid icarus. However, kid icarus was always the "other" game when Metroid and it released back in the day. It didn't share any of the innovation and emotion of Metroid and nothing else but for the same engine to that avail - which makes it difficult to highlight the distinguishing features of the franchise. Thus, making a new entry in the Kid Icarus line is, in my view, so far hindered by the fact that there isn't much that would define the game in this day and age - nothing that won't seem too generic anyway. On the other hand, take the liberty to interpret an old game's design in modern times and have oldschool fans squeeling. It's quite reasonable really that Kid Icarus hasn't received a sequel yet, although I'm aware that there have been internal tests on gameplay design/mechanics done ever since the GameCube days (and especially following the brief appearance of Dead Phoenix by Capcom) As it currently stands, it would be best suited to use Pit in a T rated title at best combining lots of true platforming and the occasional aiming. Mario 64 meets duck-hunt could turn out to be actually fun!
punch out >>>> super punch out especially regarded to its release time and great 8bit charme nowadays (very cool chiptune and damn cool characters). that game was one of the biggest innovation bombs in history of games, and still brings a lot lot of fun.
Punch Out (Vs System) > Punch Out (FC/Famicom) > Super Punch Out! The extra monitor and the big knockout button made it a joy to play.
it's not a question of "why", but more an assumption of how the reality is / respectively it was back in time.
