Hmm, for some reason my backup loader doesn't work anymore. I tried reinstalling it several times but it doesn't seem to help. It keeps being stuck at the Gamma "titlescreen" displaying a small Gecko down in the left corner. Any ideas?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I didn't want to start a new one. A couple questions about Wii Softmodding: will softmodding my Wii screw anything up for me? For example, will certain games become unplayable? Secondly, can I still run updates on my Wii after softmodding it? And finally, what's the newest, best way for softmodding? Is it still the Twilight hack?
Something called Bannerbomb is the newest. http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_setup#Bannerbomb I believe the process is possible to reverse and I don't believe there are any negative effects. However I don't have a Wii so I can only tell you what I've heard. Also there is an ISO loader that will load ISOs from USB mass storage such as a USB Harddrive.
I softmodded my Wii a while ago and have updated to the latest Wii frameware from Nintendo (the one that "loads" from SD cards.) I've had no problems at all. All my old games work, All my US imports work, All my Game Cube games still run. not one single problem. I'd say it's very safe to do. yakumo
