Is any other part of the world getting this in March? In Japan near the end of March we'll see the start of Wii Ware. Basically it's like XBOX Arcade. As you'd expect there are loads of shitty gimmicky "Family" crap coming to it however two nice titles that caught my eye are Star Solder by Hudson and this very pretty looking 3D RPG (Can't remember the name now.) Games are priced 500 to 1500 points so far, which I guess isn't too bad. My main concern though is storage ! I sure hope Nintendo let you run these from SD cards because the Wii's internal memory will soon fill up. Or maybe they'll allow the use of USB Hard Drives. You have to admit, so far the Wii's USB ports are pretty redundant with only a LAN adaptor and Keyboard making use of them. Yakumo
Err yeah i'll be getting them in the uk too LOL Im more tempted by kotoba puzzle mojipittan, have it on the ds its pretty fun assuming they keep the awesome soundtrack. No idea how they are going to pan out as like you said the internal memory is tiny so they really need to start letting hard drives or something be used.
My Son wants the Pokemon Ranch title, so going to use his nintendo VIP stars to buy it with (he has over 8000 stars!) that is if they ever have any in stock!
It's due in May in US, and god-knows-when in Europe. And the name is Star Soldier R. Can't wait to get me some Caravan mode again.
Good idea, but ends up nothing more than a knee-jerk reaction when you consider the lack of storage space on the Wii. Unless, as Yakumo says, they make a change and allow external drives to be accessible. But with the chip situation, I can't see that being very likely.
I'm getting for sure... Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King - (1500 points) Possibly want... Bomberman (???) Star Soldier R (800 points) Defend Your Castle (500 points) Nintendo will just keep pretending that storage isn't an issue. Honestly, I don't care what you have to say, Nintendo. Quit choking us.
Yeah I'm sure the millions playing nothing but wiisports will send letter after letter to nintendo asking them to let people use third party HDDs in their console... Is just not gonna happen, at best they'll release an official Wii HDD that costs two or three times more than a WD or Seagate.
I think they'd use USB-Flash drives instead of USB HDDs, kind of makes more sense considering the speed and size, no?
I'm only hoping that Sierra puts Catan on Wii ware. Besides Dr.Mario, I don't see anything interesting for me there yet.
Wasn't the new Sam & Max games supposed to be released on Wii? I know I heard something about it long ago
no, not really. Just their developer announced to be working on Wii-Ware, however they made it clear that it wasnt Sam n Max
Right, according to the message with the update info I received today from the 'blue glow', the UK are getting WiiWare in May. Bah, humbug, etc.
got the service the other day but not downloaded anything yet. maybe tonight. I'm too busy playing House of the Dead III on it. Yakumo
Seems like a great idea, although I'm not too keen on finding out that Final Fantasy for Wii Ware is going to be charging extra for in-game items....this seems very un-Nintendo to me, as how many kids are going to have credit cards to purchase these kinds of things and buy extra materials for the game online? It kind of ruins it, really... Although I'm totally looking forward to Star Soldier R. It looks amazing. How about a new Zonk game for Wii Ware, Hudson?
