1984? I think that's even before the Famicom. Wouldn't Nintendo die-hard time be sometime between 86 and 88?

I know what "Big Brother" is supposed to be, but never heard of anything called 1984. I don't read novels.

George Orwell's book, 1984 (it is the title of the book), talks about a future where every citizen's activities are watched over by a system called the Big Brother. It's an old book.

EDIT: Citizen Kane is written by Writer: Herman J. Mankiewicz

EDIT2: I hate reading novels, 1984 is quite a famous one though, and although i haven't read it, it's one of those things that you just know I guess here in Europe.

It's not just Europe, I thought everyone here in the States knew what 1984 was also.

I don't want to stray too far off topic, but have any of you read "We" by Yevgeny Zamyatin? It was a dystopian novel written in 1921 in response to the Russian revolutions of the early 1900s. Apparently Orwell was heavily influenced by this book when he wrote 1984 (of his own admission). Anyway, if you get the chance, give it a read. It's very good, particularly if you're into dystopian (1984, Brave New World, etc.) literatute.
