I have been converting my collection to MP3 for the last 14hrs. It is a right drag, but I bought a 300Gb external HDD a while ago and came to the conclusion that it was time to iTune! I've actually been using iTunes for years, however my collection literally runs into hundreds of CD's.

The bulk of them are pre-release, promotional or deleted (never released) CD's from various radio programmes I dealt with. In doing this I have discovered large numbers of promo titles I had forgotten I had (my favourite being a pre-release "Premiers Symptomes" EP by Air still in a Source CD sleeve (plain brown with the pre approved (and never used) album sticker on the front). Got to be worth something to the right collector, but I love it...

Anyway, some of them are actually just CDr with hand written titles and placed inside genuine sleeves or paper gatefolds. I can assure you, they are all 100% genuine, but if I place them on eBay will I get away with it?

Most of my paperwork has gone from these various labels as I ditched it a few years back, however I have press releases, articles etc mentioning me, featuring me or the dj sets I did. Are these enough d'ya think to convince eBay?

I think it will depend on the wording. Figuring that people get away with listing Review copies of games which are essentially DVD-rs with a sticker on it, I think youll be able to find a way to get through ebay.

Just fed up of eBay catching onto my strange listings - had a couple of genuine development items pulled recently (for obvious reasons) and it is a pain.

I would say just do some research, list them as Promos or something. I think theres always that chance of being caught, but in the end, the buyer usually knows what their getting so there wouldnt be complaints then. Im sure you arent the only one to try so

Very true - not wishing to get bad feedback however, so not wanting to say TOO much in my listings that eBay may suggest goes against their copyright policies. Will have a look at other eBayers promo listings - thanks Borman! ;-)

It shouldn't be a problem, for some reason unreleased and promo cds and such don't seem to be illegal to deal in, unlike games. You see them all the time on ebay - promo labels, "not for retail sale," or cds given to radio stations and the like.

A lot of the CD's I have are like that too, and I see people selling them on eBay and stuff all the time, just mark it as such.
