Honestly, I've seen the visuals for these games and I have to say I am really freaking impressed. However, I have to also say that madworld reminds me slightly of No More Heros. The conduit gives a Metriod Prime 3 vibe (did that game do well in terms of sales?) I'm honestly not sure, such crap is selling on the Wii. How many of you are like me and are core gamers looking forward to this.
Hmm... I've gone over some media.. and I have to say while madworld looks awesome. I honestly don't think that graphic wise the conduit looks that great imo Metriod Prime 3 looks better. My main beef is with the environment, the cars are blocky, as does most of the world. It looks like it was taken right out of GTA Vice Citys graphics, which are nothing to brag about. How can people call this a graphical achievement on Wii. Tell me if you agree http://wii.ign.com/dor/objects/14248157/the-conduit/videos/theconduitlivewire_072308.html
For the Wii, the game looks good and looks SMOOTH. Just remember that GTA last gen never was that smooth. Plus in my opinion how I remember GTA, Conduit looks much better. I think it will be a good game for the Wii, but I have no idea how the Wii as a whole will do, and how current Wii owners will receive the game. I haven't seen MadWorld.
Conduit is far of the size of GTA ... has good enemy models but the city is ... meh. I think the conduit will sell more than madworld. Madworld will sell at no more heroes levels.
Prime 3 was lame compared to 1 and sometimes (Solitude-wise) compared to 2 even. I don't recall seeing a large cult fan base for 3 anyway. That said, MadWorld will in my view enjoy the same fate as no more heroes - unless they market it better. Same with the Conduit.
it really is a shame. I'd buy both of these or should I say "will". The problem is that in Japan we get far too much family shit which can scare off real gamers. We don't even have Okami yet. Saying that, We did get Fatal Frame 4 today. I'm going to be getting in to that tonight with the lights off and the Dolby DTS head phones on for extra "shit you pant" effect tonight. Yakumo
You know that's because the Wii is marketed as an "entertainment system" for non-gamers. I mean, they have that TV commercial about how to hold the remote and nothing else. "Real gamers'" games are no priority.
If you don't mind, please tell me your first impressions when you play it, and if it's english dubbed or only japanese. :icon_bigg
They will both sell just enough to keep both project profitable, or at least break even. The sad truth is that when a pack-in game like Wiisports also outsells every other game in retail is because the audience for the Wii is made of mini-game loving casuals, and they dont want to play a game thats black, white, and full of red blood... And why you guys compare the conduit with GTA? is looks an awful lot like Halo to me. Even the enemies look like Elites, and kinda behave as such.
You mean Fatal Frame 4 or Zero Tsukihami NO Kamen as it's called in Japanese? I'm about to put it on right now. The only fear I have is taht 'Ve been drinking a few cans of 8% Chu-Hi so I'ma bit dizzy now. Yakumo
Nothing wrong with Chu-Hi. I get bored drinking beer all the time. Plus Chu-Hi really does get you off youyr face aftera few cans. So I played a whole hour on Fatal Frame 4 with a pair of DTS headphones on full whack. Man, tat game really does put the shits up you. Graphically it's very good but does suffer from some really nasty frame drops during loading (loads on the fly as you play) but they don't spoil the atmosphere at all. Put it one way, I had a cold sweat playing that game at some points. I'm a bit too drunk though to continue at the moment as I need to follow the story andsince it's in Japanese I need more concentration. Yakumo
Zero Tsukihami No Kamen, some japanese games are english dubbed, or even with spanish screen texts like Zack & Wiki/Takarjima Z. Seems that the game is good, so i'll it buy next month  PD: Real men drink Aquarius Vitamin Guard
Ah, like No More Heroes or the Bio Hazard games. Yes they are in English but Zero Tsukihami No Kamen is pure Japanese apart from the title screen options that say GAME START, LOAD, ALBUM and OPTIONS. After that all Japanese. It may be a bit fiddly to understand if you don't know Japanese however there are icons for most things so just learn what they mean and you'll be fine. In a way I'm glad this is all in Japanese. Some how a whining American bimbo female voice just wouldn't give off the same atmosphere. The are some parts in the game where the image turns in to an old movie with scratches, hairs in the lens and artifacts all over the screen. It looks really good and defiantly within the style of classic horror movies. Yakumo
