i will buy Mad World because of the simple fact that i haven't touched my wii since a week after Brawl came out. also, Henners has my hookups and refuses to give them back.
Yeah I know, it looks better than GTA too, but not that much considering the trade-off in level size.
You were supposed to come pick'em up. And you have another wii anyway. Rayray was playing Mario Galaxy last time we were at your house xD But honestly - my wii has gotten hardly any play. And it's not there aren't games, i just have finally kicked my Halo addiction. I can hardly play single player games, My love for Fighters and FPS's has made me SO competetive with video games that Unless I'm playing humans it's hard for me to have fun. I didn't start activly playing my collection until I (years after it game out) ditched my Halo 2 addiction. about 6 months before I signed onto this forum. When Halo 3 came out, I stopped focusing on other games and just played that. And I gave it up but have been practicing lots of Rainbow Six Vegas 2 with some signed MLG Pro's, but also finally playing GTA4. Now that there are a handful of decent Wii game's I'll get around to playing those. I still need to finish Zelda, and I haven't even played Mario Galaxy. And I need to buy (i rented it) No More Heroes. I'm pumped for these two game.s
I think I like my Wii again. I think I'm going to start playing it more. I think video game consoles are supposed to be quiet small cheap boxes that are full of games that are easy to pick up and difficult to master and just work without any kind of installation. The games on these devices have above all else simple controls. They're all about the games and the gameplay. PCs are big boxes with lots of fans and noise with games that require installation and constant updating of the system and the games themselves and keep sodding breaking down. People who play them go onto forums and talk about ROPs and EDRAM and Ansioscoptic filtering and all that bollox. The games has complication controls with many buttons. So we didn't play games on PC because they were a pain in the arse. I think the Wii is the only one of the three that really feels like a video game console of old. Think I'm going to spend more time with my Wii. Especially since selling like it is it's going to get a lot more development time. Also, I got my launch US PS3 but the Wii is the only one of the three now where retro and backwards compatibility is given high priory.
Uh, I didn't play games on PC often because it cost too much to keep a top of the line PC when you are young and have no money. The other reason I played console games was because they had great games you didn't find on the PC. Also I do play games on the PC, but I've never once talked about any of those things you mentioned. I also don't think PCs are a pain in the ass, just a pain in the wallet. I don't care for the Wii much. I much prefer the Xbox 360. Unless you get a badly made early system, they will do what they are supposed to and it's quite fun.
I think this be the last generation of consoles per se, and the nextgen is going to be all set-top-boxes with DoD content and subsidized by some form of service. About the PC, the thing is that 10 years ago a gaming rig was north of $2000, while today you can make a pretty decent rig for less than $1000, and a top of the line (without all the modding crap) for about $1500. Is not just about age, PC are cheaper than ever:nod:
Yeah and you can buy a console just as good for half that. I really don't see PC's taking over consoles. Since when did you hear of a great arcade hit on the PC? They are always on consoles. PC games are FPS, RTS and those games like warcraft mostly. I'm a big fan of any of them. Consoles will always be the choice of the hard core gamer I think,. Yakumo
Dude I never said PC would take over, just that consoles will change (and will, since MS is planning to do what I just said). And honestly I doubt theres anything more hardcore than PC-only gamers: here you have this increasing group that spends much more money than console gamers, and take a lot of time modding and optimizing their systems. If thats not hardcore, I dont know what it is.
Sorry, I'm a bit hung over from last night so I never read the post well. Nah, PC hardcore gamers are tech' freaks. They only play one or two types of games. So I'd class them as hardcore hardware nuts than hardcore gamers. To me a hardcore gamer is someone who owns a variety of games over a variety of platform,s and knows a lot about them. My brother says he's a hardcore PC gamer but he knows nothing about anything other than FSP. So I'd say he was a hardcore FPS player than a gamer. That's just my definition though  Yakumo
