Been watching this thread with a lot of interest over the year, the work looks incredible! Will def be looking to get hold of one of these!
I'm really excited to put these into people's hands. I cannot wait to see them in action! Right now, I'm still working on the OS. I'll have a new release soon. Out of my head, the only new feature will be the addition of a list of uncommitted changes when you change settings in the OS. This will give the user the ability to track all the settings that were changed since they booted. Next release will include ability to revert a setting change when selecting the proper line in the list. For now, XBlast OS just shows you what was setting was changed and the value change according to it. You have to go back through the menus and change it back yourself to revert. Other changes in the release are non apparent. Mostly bug fixes and tweaks. The next releases after that will take time as I want to focus on updating some sensitive code like the network stack and FATX library.
Well... Paypal permanently limited my account for selling what they think is an illegal product... I have to suspend further sales for the time being. Sorry for the let down but it's kind of a bummer. I wish to resolve this situation before doing anything else. Rest assured that all units already purchased will be honored. They are either already shipped or about to. In the meantime, if you have any advice to help me restore control of my Paypal account, please tell me!
in the meantime you could switch to google wallet. Just make sure the word "modchip" is never used. "Xbox parts" suffices well enough.
Speaking with a rep on the phone can do the trick. Either that or just open a different account with a different checking account attached if possible. Ebay got me limited back when ebay and paypal were one company for what they called "copyright infringement " over my sale of softmod dedicated but empty Xbox original consoles years back.
I would get them on the phone, unless you are distributing Microsoft code whole or in part, all you are selling is an LPC bootrom. You could accept Bitcoin for the time being, just make sure you sell them (Bitcoins) before shipping units out.
Direct bank transfer or pingit, apple pay and the like. Not sure if all these are international though?
Bank transfer is possible using the IBAN system. My bank statements have my IBAN number on them as well as online banking.
I've checked Alipay but for they do not seem to be offering peer to peer money transferts like Paypal does. From what I understand, it's a payment processor for online merchants. MoneyGram seems like a good alternative but processing fees are higher and the payment can take up to a couple of days to process.
Hello Benny, I hope everything's going well. So, I was looking for an Xecuter 3 CE on numerous forums, and someone mentioned your mod chip, so I came here straight away and was immediately impressed with your work, I've never seen such a advanced modchip, it's more like a microcomputer than a modchip. As for the Paypal thing, that sucks, I hope that gets sorted out soon, I can't give any advice that hasn't already been given, so I'll just say, list the modchip under "replacement parts" or something like that. Anyway, enough idle chatter. I was wondering how much it would cost in total to have one of your modchips sent to the UK, and do you mark the item as a gift (because import tax is a huge pain over here)? Thank you in advance Kind regards Daniel (sorry I'm so formal)
Thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately, Paypal option will never come back. They are firmly sticking to their original position... I think MonyGram or Western Union could be a good alternative but I don't know how much fees would be involved in using those. Bitcoin is the best solution IMO.
I don't think I'll be able to mine enough Bitcoins in time. I've heard Google Wallet is a great alternative to Paypal, it even has many of the same features, such as Invoices, which would be extremely useful for requesting payments for your modchips.
