    Fair enough.

It's an educated one though, I've played many rhythm games.

DJ Hero is so much better than Guitar Hero imo.

Considering how bad GH note charts have been compared to RB ever since Neversoft took over, apparently it does.

I find the whole situation kind of amusing Konami had years to try & every time they attempted in bring the whole bemani series of games to the west they somehow fucked it up.

I remember buying the PAL release of beatmania after literally an hour of playing i was that disgusted i took it back & got a refund not only was the controller totally shit but the music in it was horrible, they took all the cool music from the japanese version & replaced it with crappy stuff. And Konami then wondered why it sold so badly when they made such a piss poor effort.

Same again with DDR they wait years & years to release it, and when they do it comes out totally piss poor, it was based on the UK dancing stage version of the arcade but laughably it didn't even have all the songs from the arcade version in it.

Pop n music never made it over here (as of yet but on the wii in the US) but they ruined that too, they could have easily released it on wii with a dedicated controller & continued on the arcade series as they stopped releasing the arcade versions quite a bit ago on ps2. But no they decide to release some gimped shitty kiddy version with horrible motion controls.

It's a shame that the company who helped start off the music game genre have become so bad nowdays & others have now stepped forward in the west & filled the gap they didn't. I love rockband everything about it feels solid, not so much a fan of GH but i have a few of them. DJ hero is a fantastic game though it got nearly everything right on the first attempt & the music is fantastic.

A totally unrelated bit but Namco deserve a special mention for doing such a good effort on Taiko no Tatsujin on the wii, there hasn't been a proper arcade version released on home consoles in quite a while as they stopped releasing them on ps2, not only did they refuse to go down the typical Konami (let's dumb it down) route but they actually made the effort to release a good version for the wii, decent music & a proper difficulty level. Plus they released a wireless version of the tatacon which improves upon the ps2 versions. And it sold pretty well, actually it sold extremely well as it was almost impossible to find on release as it was sold out everywhere for a long time.

I love Taiko no tatsujin, I had no idea what songs I was playing when I did play it but it's a great game.

I should track the US pS2 version.

Konami just doesn't know how to market. If they were smart MGS4 would've been a multi platform game, Otomedius would've made it to the US discounted, and we'd all have gotten to experience Parodius.

yeah. The bonus songs in 2 come close to making half the game songs in 2, and over 1/3 of the songs in GH1 are indie songs.

I never sat down before and actually CHECKED the exact number of tracks.

The bonus songs don't count because nobody played them or remembers them

The songs that people actually played are all from (relatively) famous bands.

One of the most played tracks on GH2 was Jordan, a bonus track. it was the hardest track up to that point in the franchise.

And Freezepop's popularity skyrocketed after songs in GH1 and GH2 as bonus tracks...

That's pretty far from an indie track though (and so are the All That Remains/Shadows Fall/Every Time I Die/Dethklok tracks that I forgot even were in GHII) since Buckethead is kinda well known.

Dethklok was not known at the time. the show had been on the air not even for 3 months when GH2 was released. The Death Album was 10 months away. And I have never heard of those bands. While signed to big labels, they definatly aren't nearly as well known as say, ZZ Top or Ozzy.

They're still signed to real labels, have sold quite a few albums and people would have actually heard of them before GH, which puts them in a completely different category than the Acro-brats or Honest Bob or whatever.
