Didn't see a thread about this topic yet, so I thought I might open one up and see if any of you are interested.

    So, who is going?

    Anyone have tickets?

Any thoughts about who will win it and who will suck?

I will be watching it from home, I got no tickets, I know like 2 people who were lucky enough to get one ticket. The ticket sales sucked anyway.

For the winning part, well it would be nice to see Germany come far, but they don't have a good team, would be happy if the pass the first round. After that, its all luck. I think Italy has the best chances, bisides all the other "usual" teams. Would be nice if England would win it, I like their style of playing the game ;)

So who ever got tickets for Hamburg, I got a spare room here ;)

Well what do you know, A German rooting for England, these are progressive times!!

Obviously cheering for England, But I don't expect much:- If we couldn't win with much better squads in previous years, then we stand little to no chance this year. Hoping for a few penalty shootouts though, since they're always entertaining, even when we lose.

Hey man, it is actually the first time I read it, I only knew, that you spoke portuguese(through a mutual friend), so I thought, you were from Portugal, but now I know you are from Brazil.

And hey by the way, I would rather watch UFC all through the period of football. Since I think when 22 men (well that is why at least alot of women likes football ;-) joke ) running around for 90 minutes hitting a ball. And at the same time, the hooligans are having a blast kicking the shite out of eachother, on stage, and backstage on the streets, every where in the world. And the football players are sometimes also violent on the field, at eachother, like my father would say, a football game is a 90 minutes + - gladiator fight, cloaked into a "game".

Heck there is a reason, why I would rather watch UFC, Pride, and Thaiboxing from Thailand, than watching 22 men running around silly, and proposely hitting a ball. Since there you know, somebody will get hit, and it is on purpose.

So I don´t care who wins, or who loses in that game, and I always hope that Denmark loses, as fast as possible, since then I can relax, and forget about everything in that game. Just like the "horserace" called Tour de France, where the bikers are doping themselfs. And I almost forgot, some footie players are also doping themselfs. No people, I am not starting a flamewar, I am just pointing out my unsweetened opinion.

I even wrote a poem in Danish, about how evil I felt football was , some years ago(almost 7 years ago). So all in all, football = ..... zzzzZZZzzzzZZZ what ? to me :)

Soccer? Wtf is that? Nah seriously, I used to be into soccer as a kid and was in a team back in middleschool. It should be getting more attention in the US though. Its an international sport, really. Lately though I'm paying more attention to the NBA playoffs. Looks like Pistons are going to win this one, again...

Got myself a job in a nice quiet pub over the summer with bigass projector screens, so I'll be paid to watch all the matches - lovely :) Not really a huge football fan (although I've been watching a lot this season), but the World Cup is the World Cup - even my mum is interested! :)

I'd love to say Mexico would win or something, but, as it's traditional, we'll get pummeled in the first or second round.

I hope Brazil doesn't win. I have nothing against Brazil, but they ALWAYS win, and I would like to see someone else get the cup this time.

Maybe the Czech Republic or Croatia (the rule says if the cup is played in Europe, an European team will win, and if it's played in America, it'll be a team from the continent).

But I'd love to see Argentina win.

Could also be interpretted as "I hope someone really puts on an amazing game and outclasses the Brazilian team".

Just because you're the best team normally doesn't mean you'll be the best team on the day.

Well Brazil has won one more world cup in total than Germany..so..It's not that big of a difference between them.

Well, since Brazil won it last time (as well as most of the time) and being British, you can't really get behind Argentina (The Falklands, Hand of God, all that), I just hope a European team wins. Greece surprised everyone by winning Euro 2004, so miracles can happen.

I'm with Xerdo, rooting for a win by the Czechs or the Croatians (or even the English! [IMG])

Brazil (the football team) is full of arrogant, self important dick heads. I'd rather see anyone else win. Speaking sensibly, however, I don't think they will do it this time.
