As you probally all know, at this moment buyatari is selling this gem in the marketplace. $1800 for both: Worms Pinball - 6.22 orange GDR 7/12/00 Worms Pinball - 1.0 orange GDR 19/9/00 I don't have that kind of money, but I do like to play this game (on the Dreamcast). And I think allot of other members here aswell. So how about making an public dump and fundraiser? Possible contributors: - Wombat - PrOfUnD Darkness - arnoldlayne - darcagn - tadowhere - Mark30001
I remember this forum have been opened in order to make people release themselves, on their generosity, betas & unreleased games. And Sonic Xtreme was going to be an exception to this rule. It was not about fundraising all the time : this forum shouldn't be a way for some lucky collectors to earn money by asking for thousands bucks for releasing things... So I think we should not do often fundraising, in order to leave people able to participate these, and to not create and keep a new business based on exploiting people generosity and wish to play some games : Half Life DC, Propeller Arena, Red Star, Juiced Acclaim, GT 2000, Realm of the dead, Deuce... all got released on the scene but no one ever asked the community a thousand buck for their release !
With Propeller Arena 'we' at Assemblergames did raise money to get the game dumped. However I opened this topic becouse in the marketplace topic; some people also were talking about a community dump of this game. And well I thought, lets open a topic to make it actually work.
I think it's a good idea I think it should also be known that not many of us come across unfinished/unreleased games and/or alphas/betas of games for free, so I think the thought of someone tryng to rip someone off isn't really the case yet they are trying to re-coupe the money they have into it and a community dump is better for those who really want it (tends to be cheaper $$) opposed to one guy having it. Just a thought....
didn't knew that, sorry, I was too young at this time lol But i still think we should not do fund raising too often, or it's going to create a business for some guys that would have not spoke at all about what they kept and are just interested in money, not really in video game preservation...
I agree with Harulgory, but to be honest, I would rather do this on a true unreleased game than one that was released for one system but not another.
IMO the fact the game was released on a different platform would make any "unreleased" game not worth raising money for, assuming it is the same basic game with no major differences. Now wheres that Geist Force?
Anything Dreamcast I'm there for. I would really like, though, for there to be virgin GD images released alongside MIL-CD hacks of games, though. It would also be great to see GD images of Propellor Arena, Half-Life, and Flintstones VRV, as well.
Be interesting to see what BuyAtari has to say on this, or will he keep quiet and pretend not to see this thread?
Offcource Geist Force would be great! But the more Dreamcast games 'we' get released the better. At least that is what I think. And yeah Geist Force would be #1 on my list to get released. But I have no idea were to obtain that game. At least Worms Pinball we know were
can all in favour simply say 'yes'....seems to be working so far. C'mon folks - if there's enough of us this will be very easy.
I'm flattered to see this brought up and if you guys want it thats great if not thats fine too. There are other games that I would like to see so either way is fine with me.
I say no. As the thing really isn't worth the effort. Sure its interesting, and kinda neat because of the DC connection. But, its not like the game was scrapped completely and took a full redesign on, it just got released for another system. And for $2000 I just don't think its worth it.
I agree. Nothing personal to Buyatari, it's just this doesn't appeal to me because it saw a release on other hardware. It is nice to see another DC game available though.
I wouldnt worry too much about it. People will only pull out money for things they are intrested in. Point.
