I'm sure that Panasonic who when they needed a pad for the M2 decided not to bother with making one and instead took a third party pad, removed some switches, stuck some black tape over the gaps and done a tiny sticker on the back, probably rate as the laziest in making a prototype pad. Doesn't compare to the sexy look boomarang PS3 pads... prototype M2 pad Super UFO 3DZero 8 button pad.
I wish sony had gone with a new pad design for PS3. now they are going to be stuck with it forever. Anybody seen the portotype PS2/3 pad with the left stick moved up to where the dpad is? for some reason I think it had somthing to do with Lucasarts.
the position of the analogue stick not being in a primary position on the dual shock 3 is unexplainable really.
On the same theme, whomever decided that the Atari Jaguar controller was the one they were going to go for should have been kicked around the boardroom really hard!
I prefer the positons of the anolug stick on the the xbox 1 as well as the 360 since they are spaced out quite a bit which i feel is better and i tend to use them more and more becuase i want to rather than on the ps2/3 if i have to use them i will but thats the only time i do use them.
i prefer it with the xbox. but thats just so i dont cramp my hand over for the analog stick. Once i'm playing the game, i'm not LOOKING at the controller so to me, it feels bettter with the xbox
is it me or did you put the image texts wrong the upper one is the third party abd the lower one the m2 proto btw on that subject the real cool looking prototype was the n64 like controller from the expos kinda the same way sony went later... present a futuristic looking design and let the people work and develop on some old but working controller (if i remember right sony did use the boomerangs in the sdk but the older ps2 controllers ? anyone can share some light on that?)
A lot of magazines have a seperated at birth page where they show two photos and put the names in the wrong order.
I can see using that controller for and RPG. Kind of like those 1 handed controllers I've seen for the PS2.
