Would the SNES Play Station have doomed Nintendo?

    NIntendo is ready to go 3rd party. Wait for the NX to boom and see.

    The change in management, sad though the cause was, might have unhooked this and made it more likely. IMO, it should have happened years ago.

    Assuming the unit that was found is real, then it appears to have been simply a SNES with a 2x CD-ROM drive connected to the expansion port. The boot cart had an EPROM and a pair of WRAM chips to give a total of 384K of storage (128K in the console and 256K on the cart) - although that would have to be shared between code and data.
