It is a launch model... it is supposed to be like that...

HKT-3010 isn't a launch model. It is commonly believed to be non-heatpipe model... hence my post to correctly inform aab that it can have a VA0 board too -_-

Didn't realize a WTB thread would bring up such a debate. No apologies necessary from anyone because I'm glad that it is bringing me closer to a more accurate understanding of the dreamcast's internals. I did edit my original post to include the possibility of a va1 having the heat pipes but doesn't mean i agree or disagree of it's existence. Bottom line still stands: Ntsc-j dreamcast with the heatpipes in decent condition :).

Does a HKT-3010 for $70 sound about right (comes with cables, vmu, controllers and games)? Also is there any difference at all between the 3000 and 3010 models if they're both va0 internal?

I don't know if it is a fair price as I got my HKT-3010 with 4 other Dreamcasts in a job lot.

Also a HKt-3010 isn't guaranteed to be VA0, it is just possible to buy them with VA0 boards. You'd have to check the bottom of the unit for nothing (VA0) a 1 (VA1) or 2 (VA2) and/or open it up to be sure.

I'm not a big fan of the dreamcast lottery personally, plus I have three already and a black sports one on the way. I don't want to become a horder even though I think i'm on my way already. :nightmare:

I did verify with the guy that it has the metal fan which I saw in a photo he sent me so i'm convinced it's the one I want but I don't agree with the price yet. Decisions...
