US WTB Fabrication Service For Prototype PS3

Hello all I recently acquired another prototype console the DEH-MLODAK-G super slim prototype, as many of you familiar with this model know. None of the available examples have a power button itself so I am looking for someone to be able to fabricate one for me to fit the device, the project itself should be fairly simple , im looking for it to match the glossy finish of the console. Injection molding or 3d printed is fine, if no one on here can do it ill have it done locally.Let me know via PM

 

Why alter something on a rare prototype especially something cosmetic when it was built this way.

 

I'm not trying to alter anything just make an insert to prevent damage to the power board it will in no way be attached to the case itself. Just a button and a membrane this is to prevent damage actually, I restore and preserve these types of units, after they're done they get put behind a vacuum sealed glass case so no air or dust can get to them. I'm just needing something to secure the power board without interfering. Very simple really.

These had ribbon cables with a pcb attached to power it on and they were just hangin out of the system with nothing holding it in place. Every owner of this model had to use tape or blue tack to hold it in place. Some even lacked the pcb in full and needed to replace it. What theyre looking for is someone to make a piece that matches the prototype shell so it doesnt just dangle around. or disconnect from the ribbon or hell fall inside the console as one happened to do

 

Exactly Pixel, I take the utmost pride and care with these devices. I know full well about the rarity and significance of units like these. I don't even clean them or disassemble outside of a clean room environment and as I mentioned they get shielded from the elements. I don't even expose the units to harsh light but rather a low power source. They really are very well cared for, especially since they played a big role in my life. One thing to keep in mind is the effect that different plastics have on each other. Figure out what kind the console is made out of and make sure you aren't risking more harm by having it in contact with your modification.

 

Absolutely, however I will not be able to know this until I have the unit in my hands physically. I planned on testing this so that I can get a match in materials. Like I said it's just to sit in it while on display nothing major, these units had buttons originally but for some reason the ones that turned up were missing them.
