    You can copy DVD-R/+R debug discs in a normal DVD burner. As long as debug discs aren't pressed.

    The firmware and software is very easy to come about .. I'm sure you can just ask someone for it ;)

    The GD5k can be used for 360 backups also ..but not with the original software as it corrupts the second layer.

    I got my GD5k for $10 on ebay years ago.
