Does anyone know any good online stores that sell genuine OEM KSM-440BAM lasers as I'm aware of the fact the ones sold on eBay are usually poor quality with a high DOA rate, so if you know a good online store or own OEM KSM-440BAM lasers you're willing to part with, please let me know.

Apparently back in 2006, there was a very large production run that was intended to provide warranty/service support for the remainder of the PSone product life, but no "real" PlayStation optical pickups have been made since then. There are two problems with making an accurate copy - the first is that the spindle motor used in the original Sony pickup assembly (in fact, that whole series of motors) have been discontinued by Mabuchi, and the other is that the optical IC / HOE assembly (which was a part designed by Sony) was also EOL, since although it was pretty much state of the art back in '94 when the original console was developed by 2006 it was a 12+ year old design and the PSone was the only product that was still using it.

So I'm guessing my best chances are buying used ones from trusted sellers (individuals instead of stores) rather than taking my chances with eBay and the likes.
