Anything less and I'd basically be working at cost as Bad_Ad84 points out. It's also expensive to have someone work on your car but what you end up paying for is $300 in parts $700 in labor which one could save if they knew what they were doing or were willing to learn on what may be their sole car. Plenty of people here have tried to have their "my first soldering" experience on their console only to find that the Dunning–Kruger effect is quite real.

$150 for a Saturn is cheap; be glad the modding community doesn't form a cartel.

I'm relatively handy with soldering iron and all but when I put the infamous Enigmah chip into the xbox missus bought for me as the birthday present I ended up lifting the circuit traces and what not. I had to buy spare xbox to carnivalize the parts to fix the original xbox. It only had 18 thin wires to solder on... yer right.
I had better luck with my white Saturn which is modified for both region as well as the frequency.

in my process of moving all my console collections into my newly built home, I came across my launch model Saturn. years ago I did the swap to allow backup booting. I kept telling myself I would get a mod for it someday, mod it like the rest of my collection.

i got the bug again to fire up the old Saturn and now I would like to pickup a cd drive mod for my Saturn. I've seen a couple different mods, but I'm not sure about qualities or whatnot. can you guys give me some info on the better mods and perhaps where to get one.

I'm finally building my media room and I'm gonna have most of my classic consoles (about 10 or so) hooked up and playable. any and all help is appreciated it!

I re-found this site after searching google! I tried listing my modded Saturn on ebay but it was removed.

I have a PAL Saturn with Action Replay for Sale it has a mod chip installed. The last game I tested it with was a back up of Xmen Vs Streetfighter JAP

I was hoping to get around £100 for it?

Basically when deciding what you want the Saturn to do, it's easiest to think of region, copy protection, and 50/60hz, each as independent mods.

My consoles for £100 come with power, pad, rgb cable, region free bios, 50/60hz and a modchip

So you need all that :)

How many Saturns would you like to buy off me for £40 a pop, then? Shall we say 20?

Dont really know what point you are trying to make, because if they came with rgb cables, pads and power leads and there was enough interest to sell that many - id take them. But i already have about 6.

But my post was talking about for someone to buy one from ebay or what ever and send to me for modding. £40 is on the ebay low end and most dont include rgb cables (official one that are at least 8 on their own)

Even if a saturn doesnt cost 40 quid from ebay its still a decent deal by the time you've had the mods fitted/tested etc last i saw the region free bios mod saves quite a bit of money in buying one of them action replays
