WTB : Multi region / chipped Dreamcast

Hello im looking for a chipped or otherwise multiregion Dreamcast console so i dont have to faff around with swap & boot discs.

Console only and PSU would be fine as long as its in good working order, tho im open to whatever you have, thanks.

You dont need to chip the dreamcast, it plays/boots CD-R's just fine w/o the bootdisk if you burn the patched/selfboot images.

 

Yes I know that much and have done for years, id rather not plays boots tho just imports.

My DC barely works hence i need another, thought id get a do all wonder.

No more issues with NTSC imports running at 50Hz on PAL consoles... You have to use a disc to change region, so maybe it's not what you are looking fore.

The point is he doesnt want to use a disk.

 

Hes already said that his DC is dieing on him so flashing the bios would be point less really since you have to keep using the disk to flash it back to what ever region you want.

 

Yeah, that's right, I just wanted to make sure Baseley09 knew about this mod when he was going to get a new DC

...and the 50/60Hz problems on imports with a modchip (just think about all the 50/60Hz patches for CD-R releases). And come to think of it, how convenient it is to change to region of the DC when you have a Systemdisc 2 and want to test GD-Rs from different regions. And the fact that this mod is so simple to perform.

Man,I used to have a dreamcast modchip,its long gone now.If anything just try and find just the modchip it self,there easy to install.

 

Heh thanks, yeah I did read Lyris's region change the other day, interesting. There are Dreamcasts with mod chips out there........poor orphaned ones, i will give one a loving home and hot meals.

 

This is what I found wich was the closest to a Dc modchip ... I still ain't sure if it's one...

 

I remember lik sang used to do a really good deal it was something like 60 pounds and you got a chipped DC and then with a few games and extras. Was a really good deal to bad there gone now :-( I recommend trying import sites like lik sang because you never know what they might have.
