I know they are still out there somewhere! Prefer the originals if at all possible, not really willing to pay much for ISOs. Looking for the first retail release and early really, see this list :

    REV.B Recovery
    September 2000 Recovery
    October 2000 SDK
    October 2000 Recovery
    December 2000 XDK
December 2000 Recovery (With very basic laucher, but with plane reflection demo)
    Feb 2001 XDK
Feb 2001 Recovery (with newer type launcher, but still basic)
    March 2001 XDK
March 2001 Recovery (with BETA MS Dashboard!)

    June 2001 XDK (BETA 1)

    June 2001 Recovery (BETA 1)
    July 2001 XDK
    July 2001 Recovery

Aug 2001 Final XDK (Would consider it if it included the recovery too, assuming it has a case)

I have August 2001 final hardware XDK + recovery. It came in a 2-CD case, which I have.

But what would you want to give for it?

Ill try to remember to shoot you a PM after Im done teaching for the day. That one isn't at the top of my list (nor the highest value, since it is the most common) since I have the final recovery disk for that already, though Im missing the other parts of the package.

I'm curious what the last XDK recovery was. There were later retail kernels than 5455 out there, yet 5455 seems to be the last widespread debug recovery.

5933 is the last recovery, has both internal and external versions although the Internal seems to have dropped off the net lately.

Huh. The debug I just got from davidthomas has the 5933 kernel in it. When I took a peek inside at the HDD (don't worry, it was opened prior to purchase.) it has the kernel version listed as 5933. Looks like it was originally 4039 as the newer revision is written over the original numbers. Guess it's because this a DVT-4 console with a 1.0 based board. I can provide pictures if needed. I can even dump the disk if wanted. Get the XDK stuff from the E drive and even the retail dash stuff from the C drive if needed.

Like I said, 5933 is out there. Its just the internal Microsoft version that is harder to find. External version is easy.

Oh. OK. Offer still stands for anyone who can't find it for some reason. Need to dump the drive anyways as the replacement in the console is a bit messed up.

The 5933 recovery out there seems to only have 5455 as the debug kernel it installs, even though the dashboard is much later.

No reason to dump that disk. I loaded the 5933 on to it. All the stuff on that drive is from me and me only. I upgraded it from the external release of 5933.

Are you sure that the *kernel* version is 5933 and that that's not just the dashboard version?

You're right. Got confused there. It has the XDK dash 5933. Not sure on the kernel version then.
