    Well, aparently the guys at M$ europe have run out of cocaine and now that their crazy parallel-worlds visions are over they have reconsidered the last price they anounced ($537)

    A leak in M$s Switz website confirms that the final price is goin to be...........600 Swiss Francs = $477

    I dont know how much is that in euros, pounds or sheeps, but its an overall nice cut (60 bucks). No words on games pricing, but [if they stay on 80$] now at least you just have to give an extra $20 for a game :smt082

    From XE.NET

    SF600 = £263.34
    SF600 = E387.33
    SF600 = $475.76
    SF600 = A$623.49

    If £ price is closer to £250 I may think about it

    Microsoft has confirmed that its upcoming Xbox 360 console will debut in two flavors. A basic system with only a wired controller and standard A/V cables will be available for $299. For $399, Microsoft will bundle the console with a 20GB hard drive, wireless controller, component cables, headset, and remote control. Those bundled accessories will cost over $210 if purchased separately, so the price premium seems justified. Microsoft will apparently have more of the $399 consoles on store shelves when the Xbox 360 launches, as well.

    OK no HDD, but a wired pad? WTF?! all this BS about the wireless crap and now they send wired pads? :angry

    This is goin to hit rock bottom with all those casuals that saw the thing on Mtv......

    £69.99 for a 20Gig HD? Looks like MS will be sucking my dong for a long time before I buy that.

    damn. wireless controller with the expensive one. well atleast I can allwasys buy a wired controller and sell the wireless. >=)
    I HATE WIRELESS CONTROLLERS!! (if you want to know why: I have to recharge my computer mouse all of the time, it's really disturbing.. and that piece of junk dosen't even have rumble.. I can only think of how often you would have to recharge the xbox360 controller x_X)

    Indeed, they are already selling the "emergency batery packs" so you dont have to quit and recharge. In other words, the standart bateries wont last a shit.

    Anyways, the wireless is goin to have dual rumble, so thats one problem less to care for :D

    I might be getting the $400 version, although the only reason I'd be buying it is for the hard drive (which is overpriced like a motherfucker).

    It seems that the only diference is that the Xbox its only a little more wider than the X360, while that one is just slimer in the middle.

    BTW, those pads could get a better batery life if it wasnt for those stupid LEDs blinking all the time :die

    I doubt LED's take up enough power to be noticed. I could be wrong, though.

    No, You're right.
    one LED is approx 20mA at ~1.8v

    Which gives .02*1.8=0.036 W.
    Not going to affect anything. The motors for the rumble however - Ever wonder why the wavebird has no rumble?

    I was fallin asleep and sayin shit, you know, but now i think that the biggest batery drain in the pad is goin to be the Live headset.

    If you take the energy from the speaker and the increase in the pads signal (to send the voice data) you get a pretty higher energy consumption

    I bet the rumble in the X360 is the same that the one in cellphones. Thats the only way they can run a dual rumble with 2AA bateries

    True, on both counts. Although mobile's rumble is pretty pathetic...
