I'll probably be ignored like in 90% of my posts, but I have an idea about Xband. We do indeed have some of the game patches for the Xband modem in the source code for the server. If we put these patches on the modems somehow and do the direct dial trick, wouldn't it work? All the source code for the servers was just matching two phone numbers with alike games together. How would one go about downloading these patches to the modem, if anyone knows?
No. The Satellaview was made for score sheets and games to download, almost like rankings, as well as specific "BSX" versions of games. The Xband modem joined two consoles together and made them able to do online play by using a patch the modem downloaded from the server, which is the problem on why we cannot use Xband. First, the server is gone, and next, we don't have all the patches. And we don't have any way to put the patches on the modem, which is why I'm asking here if anyone would have an idea on how to put them on the cart.
There is project underway that is going to do this. http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthread.php?26831-Gensoip
