i have a question about networking xbox 360 dev kits. Most of my friends who have kits use ethernet cords, would it be possible to use a wireless adapter for a network connection? the ones they sell in the store for about 100US. With xbox 1 dev, i was able to use a wireless network with neighborhood so i would like to know if its the same case with xbox 360 development hardware.
Yes, they actually do work with dev kits. When DRussian had his kit, he used a wireless adapter for his connection (played him a few times on PN). Aren't all of the Xbox 360 accessories compatible with dev kits, with the exception of the now-defunct HD-DVD player?
HD-DVD player will work on a dev if your know what your doing and the only other thing I can think of is a proto 360 contoller will only work on a 360 dev and not retail, everything else should work just fine.
I have than linksys wireless network adapter and it never really worked well with the kit, It could connect to live, but neighborhood wouldn't work. I think it would be the same situation with the official xbox one... Edit its also important to state whether your pc is wirless or conected to the router, in my case its wirless and thats probably why neighbor hood doesnt work
This is what I use to use and it connected to neighborhood just fine. http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-WGX102-Wall-Plugged-Wireless-Extender/dp/B0009MYSE8
Thanks for the replies everyone. Also thanks for not treating me like an idiot for my typo in the thread title :fresh: If a moderator sees this can you please fix it for me?
Check the subnet or network the 360 (and PC for that matter) are on. If they are seperate, try typing in the IP address, always worked for me.
did you try to fix it ? reballing?[/quote] Well, there are a lot of things that can give you RROD, his error is "DVD Time Out".
Have you tried replacing the dvd drive and running a recovery disk? It patches the dvd's firmware so it will run games on the kit
i had a problem with xbox360 neighborhood with the wireless adapter, In the Launcher it wouldnt give me my IP and the Neighborhood program couldn't connect to my xbox, But I could still sign into PN. Im not using the wireless adapter anymore but I should try it again I geuss to see if it works now That I updated my Flash.
The way I'm doing wireless on my XDK is a router flashed with ddwrt, in bridge mode, connecting to my wifi network. Ethernet cable plugged into the xdk, going to that flashed router, to get the internet to the xdk. That works fine on Pnet and more importantly, in Xbox Neighborhood.
