Sorry. It's in storage and work is hectic. I'll try to get to it today.

To 100% confirm you have to take it apart. check under the board to see if it has the extra ram chips installed. If it does it can run 1GB mode.

This here is a Xbox 360 e Winchester motherboard. Like I said before to make sure it's not a Corona you have to take off the heatsink. I can confirm the Winchester motherboards do not have capability of running 1GB mode sense they don't have the extra ram chips installed under the motherboard.

The corona and Winchester boards have different psu ports. To tell the difference between a corona and Winchester is as easy as looking at the port.

I think Corona or Winchester E models have the same ports (Corona E not Corona S)

I appreciate the info. But I personally don't care enough to take it apart. I have never taken apart an E console and don't want to learn on a rare test kit lol. But I figure it doesn't have 1gb ram as it does not have an option for it

My point exactly when they announced the Xbox 360 E console at E3. Those few hundred consoles or how ever many they made were coronas. This brings us back to what I said a few months ago.

I said this back in February

Also a small note, I'm sure the only reason they released a Winchester motherboard. and only made it to stress kits then went into production, was because it was meant to be retails only. It was made to stop the RGH hack you have to remove the CGPU to get two the post_out point.

What I never understood is why the console exists in the first place. To me it made no sense for them to make the E console.

Yeah, the 360 was EOL at that point they should have let the hacks roam free

The only way I could think of it actually having 1GB mode. Is that it's a Corona with a E power port and having the extra ram chips from it used being in another case with the regular S (Slim) power port.

Corona 1-4 have the double dick port.

Corona 5/6 and Winchester have the single dick port.

Another owner of a Winchester kit chiming in here, mine has stress cables too. I wonder how many there are in existence.

I had it apart last night to confirm, definitely a Winchester. I didn't take photos though. Can't be bothered to mess with it and pull it to pieces again.

Can also confirm mine only has 512mb RAM, and no extra on the bottom of the board.

I had 10 winchester engineering samples (boards only). Around 4/5 left, I have an interesting one which has green cables around a chip (HANA?).

If the engineering samples have the extra 512mb, then maybe that green wire powers the ram? Idk. It's amazing what internal hardware is like.
